January Club Project - another Valentine Card

I Just love to be able to use our tools in more than one way.  For instance this card which we did at the club meeting uses the new Framelits Hearts Collection to EMBOSS - so you can cut AND emboss with these new toys!

Can you see how the heart in which is stamped "Love" is embossed?  Isn't that just the coolest way to use these new Framelits?

We stamped "Love" first - colored in with Stampin' Write Markers and then embossed.  Here's the Big Shot "Sandwich" for embossing (bottom to top)

Valentine's Club Demo

I shared this card and it's a case from Mary Brown.  My club members loved it!! I tweaked it a bit, but essentially it's the same as Mary's.  Thanks for the inspiration Mary

Can you see the little hearts on the card base.  Those are made with the brand new Adorning Hearts Textured Impression Embossing Folders.  You receive three folders for one price!  They include two to coordinate with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies and one with the hearts.  Just LOVE them!

Aren't they just SO sweet!!  What fun and such a wonderful addition to this card.

For the big center heart I used the Rose Red Card Stock and the 2nd and 3rd Heart Framelits.  Lined them up together and cut them so I could get the "frame".  The smaller hearts are using the 1st and 2nd
hearts.  Then I just cut a little slit in the small hearts and wove them through.  Popped them all up with dimensionals.  The Basic Rhinestones finished them off perfectly.  Without they were rather dull!

Wedding Card with New Framelits Labels Collection

Here's another swap I took to Leadership.  I just love this cool technique of embossing with the Framelits!  I'll share the "sandwich" for the Big Shot at the bottom of this post.

First I stamped the "dress" on Whisper White - I then cut it out using the Framelits Label Collection .  I then embossed it with the next size Framelit.  Here's the sandwich to use with the Big Shot (bottom to top)

I'm just so thrilled that Stampin' Up has introduced the new Edgelits (and Framelits!!).  They add SO much to your paper creations and are SO fun to use.  And really, really easy!!

Here's a card I made using the new Edgelits along with the coordinating Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders.

I first ran the card stock through the Big Shot using the Edgelits - then matched up the Adorning Accents Embossing Folders and ran them through.

What a fun way to add dimension to your paper creations!!

The butterfly is made with the Blossom Punch - I just punched out one in the Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper and one in Night of Navy - then I cut out two of the petals across from each other.  Added some Basic pearls!!  Beautiful!

Framelits - have you SEEN them?

Oh dear - these Framelits are just SO astounding.  You can cut out interesting shapes AND you can emboss with them. I'm having such fun with them.  They are really stury even though at first they don't seem like it.  But you CAN bend them, so I found this really neat idea for how to store them.  I've seen a number of people share this, so I went with it.  And with my messy desk (see below), you can imagine those little items can get lost easily, but so far this has been the ticket for keeping them together (and from getting bent). 

I have been working on my swaps for Leadership - and this is what my desk looks like tonight. 

 

 Oh dear - but I'll get it cleaned up (hopefully) before we leave.  Sam and I head out on Monday for Portland and fly out early Tuesday morning for San Antonio, TX.  This will be my first experience at the Leadership Conference and I'm really looking forward to it!!  The conference is from Wednesday to Friday and then....there is a Regional on Saturday at the same place as the conference.  So....had to stay for that. 

As soon as I get the last swap done, I'll take pictures and share with you.  But on to the way to store these wonderful new Framelits!

 

 

These are the Clear-Mount Stamp Cases found on page 205 of the Idea Book and Catalog (Item # 119105) I printed out a label from My Digital Studio - slipped it into the case and then added a 5" x 6" piece of our Magnet Sheets (119816, page 216) to each side.  The Framelits fit perfectly and what a way to keep track of them!!  I also made up one for the Edgelits.  Stampin' Up has promised more of these wonderful Big Shot items in the future and I can see my collection growing, safely stored in these cases.

And on the BACK of the case are is the "sandwich" so you have it handy when you go to use the Framelits

Sneak Peak and Sketch Challenge CCMC182 From Create with Connie and Mary

I've been itching to get my hands into my "new" stuff and just haven't had time until this week.  As a Stampin' Up Demonstrator I can pre-order from the new catalogs a month ahead.  Which, I did, of course, but with the holidays it's been so busy, I didn't have time to play.  Now I have.  You should have received your new Occasions Mini 2011 catalog in the mail last week - if you didn't, email me at [email protected], and I'll make sure you get one pronto.  So many new items - so much fun!

I decided I needed something to jump start me this time, so I did a sketch challenge that Create with Connie and Mary offered today using the new stamp set from the Occasions Mini Rue Des Fleurs.  This is such a cute set, with so many possibilities.  I also used the coordinating Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper.  WOW - love the colors that coordinate with this paper:  Poppy Parade, Pool Party, Soft Suede, Daffidil Delight, Very Vanilla and Whisper White.

Another Glimmer Card with Ornaments!

I love the simplicity, but elegance of this card - I cased it from Leanne Greff - one of my Stampin' Up colleagues.  Changed it bit to add some dazzle, but love this simple layout

Supplies:

Stamp Set:  Hand-Penned Holidays (WM 124310, CM 124312, page 15 Holiday Mini)

Card Stock:  Basic Black,Whisper White, Silver Glimmer Paper (124005, page 41 Holiday Mini), Mocha Morning Specialty Designer Paper (122366, page 183)

Embellishment:  1/8” Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon (119261, page 195)

Big Shot:  Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (120175, page 219), Stocking Accents Originals Die (124099, page 24 Holiday Mini). Scallop Duo Bigz Die (120903)

 

Instructions

• Run Whisper White through Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder about 2/3” from the top. Stamp “Merry Christmas” on bottom in Black Staz-on
• Run 3 ¼” square of Basic Black Card Stock through Scallop Duo Bigz Die
• Cut Whisper White 2 ½” square
• Cut Mocha Morning 2 ¼” square
• Run Silver Glimmer Paper through Stocking Accents Originals Die for the ornament
• Using mat, line up and punch holes into ornament
• Attach to layered pieces with dimensionals.
• Tie 1/8” taffeta ribbon in a bow and attach to top of ornament with mini glue dot

Elegant Pearls and Ornaments Merry Christmas Shaker Card

I saw a similar idea to this card and changed it bit - just love the elegant of this card.  Fun using the new Shaker Frames from Stampin' Up that are in the Holiday Mini Catalog on page 38

Stamp Sets:  French Filigree Background Stamp (113742, page 151) Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370, page 157)

Card Stock:  Marina Mist, Whisper White, Window Sheets (114323, page 216)

Ink:  Marina Mist, VersaMark, White Embossing Powder (109132, page 201)

Embellishments:  Basic Pearls (119247, page 198), 5/8" Whisper White Satin Ribbon (114616, page 195), Shaker Frames (124155, page 38 Holiday Mini)

Punch:  Ornament: (119847, page 210), Modern Label (119849, page 209), Word Window (119857, page 209) 1" circle (119868, page 212), 3/4" circle (119873, page 212)

Big Shot:  Snow Burst Textured IMpression Embossing Folder (124096, page 33 Holiday Mini)

For this card I stamped the French Filigree on the Marina Mist in versamark and then embossed it with white embossing pwoder.

The Shaker Frames:  I used the 3/4" frame and mounted it on a 1" circle of Marina Mist.  I added some large half pearls and then stuck two medium sized pearls together to form one - added them to the shaker frame and then cut a 1" circle of Window Sheets and adhered it over the top of the frame.

I cut out the Ornament in Marina Mist and ran it through teh Snow Burst Embossing Folder'  then using my 3/4" circle punch cut out the center of the ornament so the pearls would show through.  I mounted large pearls as the "hanger" and a line of small pearls under the Merry Christmas.  I tried the satin ribbon and mounted it with mini glue dots.
