Halloween Treat Box #2 - Petite Die Purse and Monster Munchies

One of the things I LOVE about going to the Stampin' UP Annual Convention is all the neat, creative ideas we see either displayed or demonstrated.  Shannon West is a great on-stage presenter and she did a Halloween demonstration - SO many cool ideas.  THIS one was just 'da BOMB. 

Monster Munchies Treat Box

This is made from the Petite Purse Big Shot Die - can you believe it?

If you have this die - you are going to be DYING to make one or more of these for those little monsters who come to your door.

So I thought I would do a little tutorial for you!!

You will need:

Petite Purse Die (125606, page 194)

Monster Munches Stamp Set (127904 W 127907 C, page 26 Holiday Catalog)

Basic Black Card Stock cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"

Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper 3/4" x 8 3/4" piece (126906, page 24)

Ice Cream Sticks

1 1/4" Square Punch (119865, page 183)

Scallop Square Punch (119884, page 183)

Two Neutrals (black) brads (119736, page 174)

Some ribbon

Step 1.  Cut our the petite purse die with Basic Black Card Stock

Step 2.  Add Sticky Strip Tape to both tabs

 

Step 3.  Line up the top score line on the 1" mark on your cutter and SCORE

 

 

 

Step 4: Add Sticky Strip along this score line

Step 5.  Remove the red tape and assemble the purse die side tabs first and then the "top" adhering it closed with the sticky tape

Step 6.  Turn purse over and with scissors cut down the middle of the top

 

Step 7.  Fold these flaps down and adhere with mini glue dots to the sides of the "box"

 

Step 8.  Cut a piece of designer series paper 3/4" x about 6".  Adhere to the flaps on both back and front

 



Step 9:  Stamp "Monster Munchies Just for You" on Whisper White and punch out with 1 1/4" punch (you will cut off the "bolts"   Punch out a scallop square in Pumpkin Pie and adhere to back.  Add brads to the sides.  I inserted a mini glue dot first and then stuck the brad in that to secure it!

Step 10:  Add popsicle stick to back of greeting with mini glue dots and adhere bottom of stick to the inside of the box.  Add ribbon on front if desired and fill with candies!!

Halloween Treat Holder - Quick and Easy Project

Are you looking for a fun and quick treat holder for Halloween - I have three I'm going to share with you over the next few days.

This is one we made at our club meetings this month.  They hold one Reese's Peanut Butter Cup or two small Hershey's treats!  These are quick and easy!  And we used the Illuminate Stamping Pad which really emphasizes the spider web!!

Card Stock:  Basic Black, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie

Ink:  Black Staz-on, Illuminate Glimmer Waterma Stampin' Pad (126857 page 23 Holiday Catalog)rk

Embellishments: 1/8" Pumpkin Pie  Taffeta Ribbon (119253, pge 172), 1/2" Basic Gray Striped Satin Ribbon (127837, page 26 Holiday Catalog)

Punch:  Little Labels Punch Pack (126881, page 183)

Big Shot:  Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die (127005, page 192), Spider Web Embossing Folder (120889, page 189)

I first cut out the Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die in Basic Black, and then ran it through the Big Shot with the Spider Web embossing folder.  Then we lined it up on the Stampin' Simply Score and made two scoring lines at 2 1/2" and 3".  We next stamped with the new Illuminate Glimmer Watermark STampin' Up - just by stamping over the spider webs.  It really gives it a glimmer and brings out the webs!!

The next step was to fold on the score lines and line up the tops and punch out with the Little Labels Punch Pack and tied ribbon.  Next we stamped and added the sentiment to the front with dimensionals.  Added candy and that's IT!!  Quick and easy treat holder.

Triple Time Stamping

Winter Memories Stamp Set Swap Card

This is the card my sister is taking to the Stampin' Up Tacoma Regional Mini Convention this weekend.  I just LOVE these skates in the Winter Memories Stamp set - in fact all the stamps!!  Beautiful

It's hard to see in this picture, but she "embossed" with the framelit, so that the stand out and really look neat! 

First she  cut out the Labels Collection Framelit and used the "negative" to mask and sponged with Bashful Blue ink.  Then she stamped the skates and ran it through the Big Shot to "raise emboss" it

One more swap - using the Window Frames Framelits Stampin' Up Dies

As I stated, I really have been using the Window Frames Framelits Dies.  They are SO fun, fast and easy to use. 

Here's another Christmas Card I made for my swaps for the Tacoma Regional Convention.  The new Make  a Mitten Stamp set and coordinating punch are SO fun to use!!  I used Stampin' Write markers to stamp the mittens and then just punched them out!!  Saves SO much cutting with scissors!

More Swaps for the Stampin' UP Regional Mini Convention

I can't wait to get to Tacoma and attend the Stampin' Up Regional Mini Convention.  I love meeting and seeing new friends and old Stampin' UP friends.  One of the fun things we do is swap cards for ideas.  These ladies are SO creative - it's SUCH a lot of fun!!

Here's a couple of cards I made - I saw an idea something like this on Stampin' Connection ( our demonstrator stamping up sharing website) and just had to try it!!

It's hard to see, but I cut out the ornament with the newHoliday Ornaments Framelits and the silver glimmer paper.  The picture definitely doesn't do it justice.  Check out my next card (below) to see how I used the "negative" part of the cutout!!

To make the cool look for the background, I ran the Core'dinations Cherry Cobbler Card Stock through the Big Shot with the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder.  I then sanded it off with the brand new Stampin' Sanding Block.  Worked like a charm and actually gives the paper a real "wall paper" feeling.  Really neat!

I'm BAAAAACK - Halloween here we come.....

I"m sorry I've not been posting the last couple of weeks.  I'm headed out on Friday to the Stampin' Up Regional mini convention, so have been prepping for that.  Yes another round of swaps.  I'm cutting paper in my sleep let me tell you {BIG GRIN}.  And I absolutley LOVE it.

What happens at a Stampin' Up Regional Convention.  Well......we have a wonderful and warm welcome by Shelli Gardner (the co-founder of Stampin' Up).  She usually shares fun information and then does a project or two or three.  Fun, fun! 

Then we get to see local gals share their creativity.  SO fun to see other demonstrators get really, really nervous on the stage (oh, I'm SO bad!!).  They do a wonderful job and share some fantastic projects with us. 

Then we have lunch - yummy!  Then we do some make 'n takes.  All the supplies are provided and we get to do fun fun projects.

More demonstrations - this is a day long event attended by many local demos and their guests.  It's a "taste" of convention and SO fun.

But convention is ONLY for Stampin' Up Demonstrators.  Would YOU like to attend a Stampin' Up Convention?  Just ask me how YOU can become a demonstrator and join the fun.

I fell for this set (Bootiful Occasions) when the catalog first came out and just now have gotten around to using it!!  This idea of the inlaid embossing was shared sometime ago and it's just a fun way to add color and "depth" to your creations without the extra layers!!

To "inlay" the circles, I cut them out, adhered them to the black layer and ran them through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.

Tip:  I use Black Staz-on ink when I'm going to do any coloring - the Staz-on ink won't run as it's  a pigment ink and not water based!

#2 Afternoon Daydream Simply Scrappin' Kit and One Sheet Wonder OSW

My sister and I had a fantastic time this weekend making up the Afternoon Daydream Simply Scrappin' Kit.  We each did one using the One Sheet Wonder template - then we "winged it" and added extra card stock and I made an additional 13 cards and she made an additional 18 cards.  I wanted to share them with you. 

 The Afternoon Daydream Simply Scrappin' Kit can be found on page 167 and is Item # 126927. 

With the One Sheet Wonder template you can make 15 cards.  Here are the 15 I made

If you would like to try this "technique" you can find the OSW template and layout in my post here where I used the Raspberry Splash Simply Scrappin' Kit

Each Simply Scrappin' Kit comes with 8 sheets of coordinating card stock 12" x 12", six sheets of Designer Series Paper - 3 of two different double sided designs, and 3 sheets of card stock stickers which are 12" x 12"

I cut all pieces of card stock at the 8 1/2" mark - then cut those at 5 1/2" to make two card bases - the left overs I used for back and cutting out various embellishments for the cards.  So I was able to get 16 cards from the card stock in the kit.  And the sticky die cuts are almost unending!!  I cut the long border stickers at 5 1/2" so they would fit on the card bases!  I LOVE using up every little piece!!
