I love making cards for my hostesses

Fun Fold Card - Gift Card Holder using Designer Series Paper

This is another demonstration I am sharing with my club members for February

I saw this on a blog post on Patty Bennett's a number of years ago.

Patty called it the Tri-Fold card design

You start with a piece of designer series paper that measures 12" x 5 1/4" and is scored at 4" and 8"

Once you burnished the score lines, start at the bottom section and cut from the top left to the bottom right and take off a triangle

Add some Tear & Tape to the left side

Then cut for the front and inside

I used the Scalloped Contours rectangle scallop dies

For the front I used the 3rd from the largest

I added some Gorgeous Grape which measures 3 7/8" x 2 5/8"

For the inside, I used the 2nd largest Scalloped Contour die and added some Gorgeous Grape measuring 4 5/8" x 3 1/4"

You can add a piece of cardstock to the bottom of the inside (Highland Heather 4 5/8" x 1" if you would like to include a gift card.  I just added some tear & Tape to the sides and bottom

I mounted this on a piece of Highland Heather Cardstock measuring 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"

There is a new suite of products coming March 1st - called Hello, Irresistible Suite

I used the sentiments from this set - love the font!!

February Club Demonstrations

I love sharing new ideas and techniques with my club members

Here's one that is just a quick way to add some cards to your collection

Make them up and have them ready to mail out!

Six cards from one sheet of Designer Series Paper

Over the past years, Stampin' UP has brought out paper that has designs at the top and bottom

Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper

Such a beautiful piece, but how to use it?

Cut it into six card fronts 5 1/4" x 4"

Add to a card base and a sentiment and you have six cards ready to go

 

I cut the piece in half at 12" x 6" and then cut off 3/4" at the bottom of each piece

Then cut them into 4" pieces and you have six card fronts

Just add a sentiment and you are ready to send!

 

Another paper that is a Sale-A-Bration Item (unfortunately it's gone) is the Dainty Delights

Here's six cards from the same type of sheet - and remember there are two sheets in each package - 12 easy cards

 

And the Enjoy the Journey Designer Series Paper has a lot of these

Adorable Owls February Club Project

I had to cancel our regular club meeting on Thursday the 23rd

We had snow and I ended up succumbing to the stomach flu

NOT fun and glad I didn't expose anyone

We will be gathering on Monday the 27th instead

Day at the Farm One Sheet Wonder

Did you get the FREE Day at the Farm Designer Series Paper that is a Sale-A-Bration item?

And now wondering what to do with it?

Mary Knabe shared this "one sheet wonder" 

I just LOVE it and wanted to share with you

You can make five slimline cards and one A2 card

WOW - isn't that great?

This "scene" piece (there are two in the pack) is perfect for this

It would also make a great scrapbook background!

Measurements

Here's a little tutorial

Start by cutting 4" off the bottom

Cut the 12" x 8" into 4 pieces measuring 8" x 3"

Cut the bottom piece at 4" - so you have a piece that is 4" x 4" and 8" x 4" 

Cut off 1" at the bottom and top of the 8" x 4" piece. Mary suggested cutting right at the cow and then cut off the bottom to make it 8" x 3"

You now have your 5th slimline card that is horizontal.  And you have a 4" x 4" piece for the A2 card

Next cut 5 pieces of Basic Black measuring 8 1/8"  3 1/8" - Adhere the five scene pieces 

Cut 5 card bases in Garden Green that measure 8 1/2" x 7" and score each at 3 1/2"

Add the scenes to each - five slimline cards

Add some Basic White to the inside - cut 8 1/4" x 3 1/4"

For the A2 card - Mary made it into a "bookbinding" card.

Cut a piece of Garden Green 11" x 4 1/4".  Score at 5 1/2" and 6 1/2"

I added some of the striped yellow from the Day at the Farm pack - I cut it 4" x 3/4"

I added a piece of Basic Black cut 4 1/8" x 7/8"

Adhere that to the 1" area and wrap some ribbon around it. 

Add Tear & Tape to the 1" piece and you now have your book binding card

For the front, I added a piece of Basic Black that measures 4 1/8" x 4 1/8

I cut out the cow, sheep, pigs and some flowers from the designer series paper and added them as well

Five easy cards really fast!!

I didn't add sentiment to the slimline cards, as I'm not sure who I will be giving them to.

I'll be looking for more "scenes" that this can be done with

And, of course, these coordinate with the On the Farm Bundle in the mini catalog (page 34)

Two Quick Cards - By the Bay Designer Series Paper

Here are a couple more quick cards using the Two Quick Cards Technique

I have to say the By the Bay Designer Series Paper is just beautiful

You can see my little tutorial in my post yesterday here

For this card, I lined up the designer series paper and cut from about 2 1/2" x up on the right side and down to about 1" on the left side.

I switched out the pieces and mounted them on Night of Navy card stock and used Coastal Cabana for the card base

Two Quick Cards

Have you ever been "under the gun" to get a card made quickly?

Well, I have a better idea - make TWO cards at once

And don't we all have lots of paper we need to use up (so we can buy more....)

Here are a couple cards I made in about 10 minutes

A thank you and a sympathy

Here's a little tutorial

Cut two pieces of designer series paper 5 1/4" x 4"

I used two different pieces from the same pack of paper - Country Floral Lane

Line them up on your trimmer and cut off at the bottom

Now switch out the pieces and you have two cards

I used Sweet Sorbet for the card base and a piece of Basic White to mount the designer series paper 

Check back tomorrow for another beautiful set!

 

Measurements

Sweet Sorbet card base 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (cut 2)

Basic White 5 1/4" x 4" (cut 2)

Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper 5 1/8" x 3 7/8" 

Once you have the designer series paper adhered to the Basic White, wrap some ribbon around to cover the seam
