Animal Outing Stamp Set - new in the Stampin' Up 2018-2019 Annual Catalog

Animal Outing is a stamp set we received at our semi-annual Stampin' Up Event in April

I hadn't used it until a couple of weeks ago when I had some time to use some of the new "stuff" we were able to pre-order

It's SUCH a cute set and also comes with framelits

I get those tomorrow, so look forward to some easy cards for the littles

Stitched Labels Framelits!

I can see that these Stitched Labels Framelits are going to be a favorite.  SO delicate and so effective

I cased this card from Pinterest with some major changes

Can you see the fine detailed "stitching" in the background?  That's a thinlit!!

And the background for the sentiment is also a thinlit!

I LOVED the new Highland Heather Card Stock too!!

New Stampin' Up 2018-2020 In-Colors

I'm one that just can't wait to see the new "In-Colors" that Stampin' Up introduces every year.  

Yes I DO hate to see some of the old ones go, but I always keep a few sheets around just for myself (well.....more than a few sheets)

Going to miss Sweet Sugarplum for sure!

But the new ones are just gorgeous - so bright and beautiful!

 

I made up cards with each color

I added the new Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Paper

I cut apart the first sheet with scissors and added to the front of the card!  LOVE this paper - it's SO delicate!

You actually get 8 sheets of this paper - 4 of each of the above pieces!

And to top it off, it's Whisper White on one side and Very Vanilla on the other side

And.....it just keeps getting better - you can color it with your markers, Blends or a sponge!!

Painted Glass and Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Designer Series Paper

So many new products and SO little time 

But I have been playing a bit and made this card

 

Unfortunately I had to send it already, but LOVE how it turned out

I used the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Designer Series Paper 

You get 4 sheets of each of the above designs in this pack - beautiful backgrounds!!

What can I say - is that stunning or what?  

I used the returning Blackberry Bliss for this card

Are you wondering how to adhere this beautiful paper?

I used our Multi-purpose Liquid Glue with a Stampin' Sponge!

I poured out a little glue on a Silicone Craft Sheet and then sponged on the backside of the laser-cut paper!  SO easy and it dries clear, so no worries about any showing through!

Baby Shower Gifts

I had such fun making these baby shower gifts

I followed Pootles (thanks Sam!) directions and made this darling "desk" set for a baby changing table

I found all the products in one little bag and they all fit perfectly

The tall box in the back has a jar of "butt paste" 

Then I added a matching card

and two "grandma brag books" (thanks Gez Carpenter)

Even though this Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Paper is now retired (boo hoo!), There are some great designer series paper in the brand new 2018-2019 Stampin' Up Annual Catalog that would work perfectly for any kind of desk set you might wish to make

The Impossible Card

What???? The Impossible Card?

This is a very popular card right now and it does look "impossible"

But it's really quite simple to make and it's a FUN card

The neat thing is that it folds flat for your envelope, but pops up when you take it out!!

I saw this first on Dawn G's site and loved it, so just had to try it

I shared this card in our April club meetings and am just now getting around to sharing it here!

I have a little picture tutorial that I hope will encourage you to make one (or two or three) too!

You will start with a piece of card stock (card base) that is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"

Dawn suggested making a template and that does help

Drawn lines at the center horizontally at 2 3/4" and then from the top vertically down 2 3/4"

Then draw in 1" on either end 

Once you have done that, but up on the 1" lines and the center on the 2 3/4" line

Next set your card stock under the template and cut the card stock on the lines you just cut

Once your lines are cut you will take the right upper part and fold it UNDER 

The next step is to decorate your card.

Here are two more templates to make so that your decorations go quickly

Cut the above two pieces - the black will be the backing for the designer series paper

Once they are cut, just add your card stock and designer series paper and cut them out

Adhere them to the card front

You will now add a "stabilizing" strip to the bottom which measures 5 1/2" x 3/4"

Basic Black 3 3/8" x 2"

Whisper White 3 1/2" x 1 7/8"

Decorate how you like and your card is done!!

Impossible!!

Background Stamping with Acrylic Blocks

I just love it when I can use my tools in lots of different ways

And this is no exception

Use your acrylic blocks to make a background for your card

I'll show you this quick and easy technique and you can see how cool it is!

And every card will be different!

Measurements

Pool Party Card Base 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Soft Suede 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

Instructions

 

Color the Acrylic Block D with the Pool Party and Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Markers

Spritz from about 12” twice with water

Stamp on the Shimmery White Paper – hold it down until you have a good cover

Let dry for a few seconds (doesn't take long)

Stamp the birds and the sentiment

Adhere Shimmery White to the Soft Suede and to the Pool Party Card Base

Now was that fast or what!!

LOVE it!

I used Soft Sky Ink and the Soft Sky Card Stock 

Soft Suede Card Base along with Soft Sky card stock and Soft Sky Ink for the background

I used Powder Pink for the card stock 

I used the E Acrylic Block and colored with Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron and Old Olive

I stamped the flower and sentiment in Black Memento Ink

 

I hope you will try this technique - it's fun and makes for quick cards!

Diagonal Fold Pocket Card

Dawn Griffith shared this great Diagonal Fold Pocket Card recently and I fell for it!

Isn't that just stunning?

And you take out the insert and you can stamp something behind it

And the inside - great for gift cards, an extra little note or even cash!

Measurements

Rich Razzleberry Card Base 11" x 8 1/2" scored at 5 1/2" on the 11" side  x 4 1/4" on the 8 1/2" side

Crumb Cake 5 1/4" x 4"

Whisper White 5" x 3 3/4"

Rich Razzleberry 4" x 2 3/4"

Instructions

Score the Rich Razzleberry Card Stock at 5 ½” on the 11” side and at 4 ¼” on the 8 ½” side

 
Cut out the right lower section

 
 Line up the left score line with the bottom and cut diagonally 

 
 It should now look like this

 Fold up the triangle piece to make the inside pocket. Before adhering this piece down add your Whisper White to both inside pieces.  Then run a line of adhesive down the straight side and adhere

 
The front is pretty self-explanatory. 

Adhere the Crumb Cake to the card front

Adhere the Whisper White 5” x 3 ¾” piece to the Crumb Cake – stamp the flower in Rich Razzleberry

Stamp the sentiment on the Whisper White 3 ¾” x 2 ½” and adhere to the Rich Razzleberry for the insert

Cut the Crumb Cake 3 ¾” x 3” and Share What You Love 3 ¾” x 3” pieces on the diagonal and adhere to the front of the card. 

Just add adhesive to the bottom and left and right sides on both pieces so there is an opening in the center.  Add the insert over the flower• Stamp “Thank You” inside
