Hostess Gifts for March Club Hostesses

I absolutely love making handmade gifts for my hostesses and this month I used the

gorgeous Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper combined with the

Sale-A-Bration Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper

I saw this set on Julie Gilson's site and just had to make it up!!

This set includes a box and 4 cards using the Note cards and Envelopes

These are such a bargain - you get 20 note cards and 20 envelopes for just $6.00!!

Here's a brief tutorial with measurements on the box

Berry Burst Card Stock cut at 9 1/4" x 8" and scored on the 8" side at 1 1/4" x 6 3/4"

Turn and score on the 9 1/4" side at 4" and 5 1/4"

Cut up to the score lines on the sides and taper for the tabs (see picture)

Add Tear & Tape to one side and fold into a box

Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper 8 1/8" x 3 7/8

Score on all side at 1 1/4"

Cut up to the score lines on the ends and cut off the corners

Add Tear and Tape and fold in to form the lid

Cut two pieces of Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Paper 12" x 1/2" and 5 1/2" x 1/2"

Wrap the 12" piece around the bottom of the box - and fold to the back.  Add the 5 1/2" x 1/2" piece over the back 

Cut out the tag from the Sweet Cake Framelits Dies and stamp "For You" from Cake Soiree in Berry Burst.  Stamp the flower in Berry Burst and cut out with the coordinating Framelit and add to the tag with dimensionls

Tie the Berry Burst Metallic Edged Ribbon around the box and using the Silver Baker's Twine to tie the tag

Easter Basket

Just a quick share

We had a workshop last night and I made up these little baskets for everyone

Brenda Q shared this cute little basket and I just couldn't resist

Here's a quick tutorial just in case you need to make a few for tomorrow

Cut a piece of card stock 6 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Score on the 2" side at 1 1/2"

Turn and score on the 6" side at 2", 3" and 5" JUST TO THE ABOVE SCORE LINE

Then score at the 6" all the way

 

Next using the Basket Weave Embossing Folder, you will want to emboss just the unscored part

Your scored part will fall outside the folder

Next cut the bottom tabs just to the score line

Cut out the small piece at the 6" score line

Gently curl the top embossed area, so that the top of the basket has a rounded finish

Fold on the score lines and add some Tear & Tape to the tab and adhere to make the basket

   

Next step is to add Tear & Tape to one of the rectangle bottom pieces

   

Fold that piece in and the two tabs in and adhere

Then add Tear & Tape to the other rectangle and adhere down

Run a 6" x 1/2" piece of card stock through the Basket Weave Embossing Folder for the handle

I added a mini glue dot to the ends and adhered inside the basket

   

I stamped the circle and little rabbit from A Good Day stamp set and cut it out with a 1 1/4" circle punch

Then cut a 1 3/8" scallop circle and added it to the front

I added some Sweet Soiree Ready Shreddie and, of course, some candy!!

We made these in a workshop this week and they are absolutely GORGEOUS!

Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper - FREE with a $50 order - just One Day Left!

I had such fun making this card - I absolutely LOVE the Bubbles and Fizz Designer Series Paper that is a limited edition during Sale-A-Bration

It's just SO happy and fun!  

I used the Tailored Tag Punch 

I punched about a 10-12 if the punches and then lined them up and adhere them

I actually started at the top by lining up the two full pieces kinda centered and then built around that!

I will share a couple more I did soon, but wanted you to get a look at this paper.  

I actually had some scraps of the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper (with the bubbles on them) and they matched so well, so I included them too!

Amazing You using the Stamparatus

The Amazing You stamp set (and coordinating Celebrate You Thinlits) is a fantastic pair!

I shared this card at my retreat to demonstrate the great stamp set AND the new Stamparatus

What is the Stamparatus?

It's the BEST stamp positioner on the market

For this card I used the "hinged" effect and Ombre Technique

I added the "celebrate" thinlit to the Stamparatus window - inked it up and stamped it once - moved the hinges down and stamped again (without re-inking the stamp) and then moved the hinge AGAIN and stamped

LOVE IT!!

Lots of Lavendar Sale-A-Bration

The Lots of Lavendar Stamp Set that is a Sale-A-Bration item has been very popular and oh so fun to work with

Here are a couple of samples using this great set

For this card I stamped the main flower in Black Memento Ink and then stamped the leaves, ribbon and flower using the "two-step" method.  The set includes the stamps to do this!  I used Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive

This next card was a demo at our club meetings this month

I can see myself using this layout for lots of cards

LOVE IT!!

The picture definitely doesn't do this card justice and I cased this card from Jen at Jen's Craftworld

I stamped the flower on vellum.  I used VersaMark first and then stamped directly on the Basic Black Archival pad

I then embossed with clear embossing powder

Really makes a SHINE

I then colored the BACK of the vellum - I used the Blends to color them - Light Rich Razzleberry, Light Old Olive and Dark Daffodil Delight

I cut out using the Lots of Labels Framelits Dies the front of a 5" x 3 3/4" piece of Whisper White Card Stock and then mounted the vellum on the back.  I then added the Foam Adhesive Strips to the back and mounted that to a piece of Whisper White Card Stock. 

I then mounted this on a piece of Berry Burst Cad Stock and then onto the Whisper White Thick Card Stock base

Measurememts

Whisper White Thick Card Stock 11" x 4 1/4"

Berry Burst 5 1/4" x 4"

Whisper White 4 3/4" x 3 1/2"

Vellum 5" x 3 3/4"

I then made a "frame" for the front by using the largest and second largest Lots of Love Framelits Dies and cut them out together and then adhered that to the front of the card

At our Retreat at the first of the month, this was one of the cards that was the "kit of the day"

Each person got one kit per day to do

For this card and the next two shared below, we used the Sponge Brayer to color the specialty paper.  Just brayer over the beautiful embossed paper and then rub it with a paper towel (which takes any off the embossed part)

I added copper sheets behind which really makes the paper stand out!!

You could actually use silver or gold too!
