Are you like me and wait until the last minute to package gifts?
Well.....I had an idea come into my head today while I was shopping at Costco - they have these wonderful candies
So I picked up a jar of them and think they will make great gifts.
But how to package them?
I found this box on Pootles (from the UK) site and remembered I made these some years ago
So I whipped up three of them - yep I used some new designer series paper that is in the
2018 Occasions Catalog!!
It's a specialty designer series paper and is thick which is just what I needed for this project!!
Here are the three boxes I made
These are good sized boxes with finished measurements of 7" x 4" x 2"
You could put LOTS of "stuff" in these boxes!
I filed it with these special chocolates, but you could put a pair of socks, gloves, scarves - many, many possibilities
I love how they turned out - I don't have the tags on yet, because someone might SEE!!
The Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper is absolutely GORGEOUS
I used card stock for the tops!
And here's a little tutorial on how to make these boxes
Bottom of Box
11" x 8" and scored at 2" on all 4 sides
Cut up to the score line on all 4 sides and miter the tabs
I used Fast Fuse on the tabs and then assembled the box
TOP
Since I used card stock instead of paper, I suggest making the top a SMIDGE larger
Cut a piece of card stock or paper 9" x 6" (I would add about 1/16" on both sides if using card stock)
Score at 1" on all 4 sides
Assemble the same as the bottom
And THAT is it! SO simple and you can decorate as you see fit. Maybe stamp on the card stock; or whatever suites YOU!
I will add a tag and that is it!!

I'm so happy you were able to use this project - LOVE making my own packaging and I ended up giving them to my girls full of candy with "Mommy's Stash" on it!!
Thanks for writing!!

Thanks for this great project, Jan! I made four of the sweet boxes to disguise the checks we gave our kids for Christmas. Inside the box, I also placed the checks in coordinating money folders and gave the box a little weight with a kitchen towel folded to just fit. They loved the boxes! Of course, they didn't mind the checks, either....lol
