February Stamp of the Month Kit - Dragonfly Dreams

 

There are SO many wonderful products in the new 2017 Occasions Catalog, that's it's hard to choose my favorite, but the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle is right at the top!!  

So many many possibilities with this set and that's why I chose it for February 

Wonder what the Stamp of the Month Kit is?  If you have ever purchased stamp and accessories and then didn’t know what to do with them when you received them, I have the solution.  You purchase the kit (at a discount), and I will send you the kit and three projects to do up immediately.  The kit includes the stamp set and whatever else I choose in making the card kits.  I don’t include adhesives, ink and stamped images (per Stampin' Up rules), and you can substitute what you have.  These projects are fun and easy to do.  I will send you a pdf file by email with the instructions and pictures for each project and the actual product to make three projects will be included in your kit!  Plus I will include additional samples that you can use to create even more cards and projects!!

So for this month we will be using the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle which includes the

If you already have these products, you may substitute any products in any current catalog for the same price (to total $51.25).  The projects will be for the above products.  If you sign up for six months, the shipping is free.  Otherwise I will include $6.45 for priority mail shipping in your total.

Thailand Achiever's Blog Hop January 2017

Welcome to the Thailand Incentive Trip Achievers Blog Hop for January 2017. This month our theme is the "Sale-a-Bration". We want to show you some more ways to make the most of your Sale-a-Bration items. Have you collected them all yet?

We've had many, many mild winters, so I guess we deserve a hard one now and then.  And we've HAD it.  So Thailand can't come soon enough for us!  

As I looked through the Sale-A-Bration Catalog, I truly had a hard time choosing what I wanted first, but when I saw the Tasty Trucks stamp set, I just fell......the little truck treat favor caught my eye.   I'm not sure how Stampin' Up assembled theirs, so I decided just to wing it and make my own.  

This will be perfect for one of the three grandson's birthday coming up in the next couple of months and since I had lots of Hershey's Nuggets, I used those  

I started by stamping the truck once.  I used the new Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen to color.  

I wanted a 2nd truck on the back, so I stamped on a window sheet with Black Memento ink and then stamped on Whisper White.  That gave me a reverse truck!

To make the box I cut a piece of Soft Sky Card Stock 5 1/2" x 4 1/2"

I scored the 5 1/2" side (at the top) at 1 5/8" and 3 7/8"

I turned and scored the 4 1/2" side at 1 1/2" and 3"

The next step is to burnish the score lines and then cut up to the first score line as below

Trim off the 4 outside tabs about half

Assemble your box - I used Fast Fuse, and you can use any strong adhesive - Tear & Tape or Tombow

   

Next attach both trucks and add your sentiment.  I cut two pieces of the Soft Sky Card Stock 1/4" by about 2 1/4" and glued them together (for strength).  then stamped the sentiment and attached it with a couple glue dots.  I attached it to the side of the truck also with glue dots.  Don't forget to stamp "Happy Birthday" on the side of the truck.  I inked up the words and covered the "now where's the cake" with washi tape and had a "clean" stamp!!

Valentine's Mailbox Treat Holder

 I LOVE treat holders and I’ve seen a few of these on the internet, so had to make one up!! These go together fast and would make great favors for c;hildren, teachers, well…….just about anyone that loves candy. They hold two Hershey Nuggets

Supplies
Stamp Set: Sealed With Love (142815)
Card Stock: Real Red (102482) 3 ½” x 1”; 2 – 1” x ¼”
Whisper White (100730) 4 5/8” x 1 ¼”, ¾” x ½”
Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack (142733) 3” x 1”
Ink: Real Red (126949)
Punch: Confetti Hearts Border (137415)
Big Shot: Layering Circles Framelits Dies (141705)

 

Instructions:

• Score the Real Red Card Stock 3 ½” x 1” at 1 1/8” and 2 3/8”
• Run the Real Red piece through the Big Shot using the smallest Layering Circle Framelit, rounding both ends

   

• Score the Whisper White 4 5/8” x 4 ¼” at 5/*” and 3 5/8”

• Run the bone folder over each end of the Sending Love Designer Series Paper to loosen up the fibers. This helps mold the paper for the “bend” of the mailbox

   

 

• Add Tear & Tape to both long sides of the Designer Series Paper and adhere to center part of the Whisper White 4 5/8” x 1 ¼” piece.

• Burnish the score lines on the Whisper White piece well. Add Tear & Tape to each end of the Whisper White piece

• Wrap the Whisper White piece around the Real Red piece starting with the 5/8” score line and then gently folding (not creasing) the top over and adhering the other end

   

• Adhere two Hershey’s Nuggets together with Tear & Tape. Add a piece of Tear & Tape to the bottom nugget and slide into the mailbox

• Add glue dots to the back part of the Real Red and adhere

   

• Adhere the two pieces of Real Red Card Stock 1” x ¼” together and add to the side of the mailbox with glue dot.

• Stamp “Sending Love’ on Whisper White ¾” x ½” and add to flat with glue dot

• Punch small heart with Confetti Heart Border Punch and add to front with glue dot

Cool Treats and Frozen Treats Framelits Dies

 The Cool Treats Suite is just that - really COOL

There are so many possibilities with this suite.  Check out the cool samples in the catalog (pages 32-33)

And here's a card shared by Sarah Fleming

I'm not sure if you can see it clearly, but the chocolate on the ice cream is shiny!!  To make that, you cut out the chocolate topping with the framelit in Early Expresso  and then use your Fine Tip Glue to "color" it - it dries pretty rapidly!!  Really neat!
