Shaker Card for the Men

I recently shared some shaker cards and forgot this one because it was entered into our county fair.  Yes it received a Blue Ribbon

This is PERFECT for the men in our lives - we do need to say "THANK YOU" sometimes!!

I just LOVE the background for this card - no I didn't stamp it - it's part of the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Pack on page 174 in the Annual Catalog - that paper is SO beautiful and you get 48 sheets - 4 each of 12 double-sided designs.  I really recommend it!!

Diagonal Gatefold Card - check it out!!

I just LOVE interesting fun folds and this one is SO intriguing.  And the neat thing is that it's EASY!!  I didn't come up with the idea, but I DID name it because I couldn't find a name for it.

I actually entered this card into our county fair recently,  The "theme" this year was "Western", so this fit perfectly

And....I received a Blue Ribbon!!

As I said, it's totally a snap to make!!

 

Cut cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/4"Score at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2"

Score from top left of card to bottom of 2 3/4" scored line

Score line from top of the 5 1/2" score line to bottom right corner of the card

 

Finished card measures approximately 6" x 5 1/2"   Make an envelope to fit with the Envelope Punch Board

Happy Happy Birthday Shaker Card

I have one more Shaker Card to share - this one was fun and really simple to make.  I broke out the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits - which I had never used.  Hmmmm.....time to use them and they are quick and fun!!  I can't say enough about the Foam Adhesive Strips that are new in the Annual Catalog - LOVE them for making Shaker Cards.  You probably need to stock up on them for future fun cards!!

I used the Sprinkles Punch to make the "confetti" for my shaker - all kinds of fun colors!!

Birthday Shaker Card - Hostess Set

This stamp set is a "two-step" stamping and is SO easy to do!  Just stamp the outline and then the flowers!  Whoa - SO easy and so beautiful!

Measurements

Smoky Slate Card Base 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Layer 2 Whisper White 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"

Layer 3 Whisper White 5 1/4" x 4"

I ran Layer 3 through the Big Shot with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder and then cut out the oval with the Layering Ovals Framelits

Haven't posted in a while.....

It's been a busy few weeks and I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while!  I've been getting ready for my annual RUBBER sale and it's been busy, busy!  It starts on Thursday, August 11th at 8:00 a.m.  at my home - if you live in the area, please feel free to come and see what I have for sale.  I have over 500 Stampin' Up retired stamp sets, plus lots of paper and embellishments.  Plus some punches, big shot dies - oh too much to list here, and everything is priced to sell.  Email me if you don't know where I live!!I literally have outgrown my storage space and need to move this "stuff"

I want to share some of the projects I have been sharing in classes recently.  One of my local customers, Arlyn, had a workshop in early July and she wanted to REDO some projects we had made previously to refresh!  So......we did!

First was a shaker card - I'm LOVING the new Foam Adhesive Strips that make shaker cards SO easy!  

Here's the one we made in class

and a couple more versions

Shaker cards are SO fun and really quite simple to do!

Here's a little "tutorial" on how to make the shaker portion

Start by cutting out the shape - I used the Layering Squares Framelits and cut a 3" square with the scallop square framelit

I then cut a piece of Window Sheet 2 7/8" x 2 7/8"

Adhere the window sheet to the framelit 

Add the Foam Adhesive Strips around the edges of the window sheet

Add your sequins or whatever you want to have "shake"

Take off the cover from the foam adhesive strips and adhere  piece of Whisper White on which you have stamped the sentiment that measures 3" x 3"

DONE with the shaker part

The rest of the card is Whisper White Thick Card Base and the designer series paper

Add your shaker piece to the front and some ribbon 

It's THAT simple!
