Mediterranean Swaps continued.....

Love all the new Layering Framelits and this is a great sample of the Layering Scallop Squares and Squares.  LOVE it!!  This also uses the Floral Affection Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (141713)!!  The sentiment is from Thoughtful Banners (141614)

She cut out the butterfly using the new Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (141644) - really beautiful!!

August Stamp of the Month Kit - Jar of Love

I can't believe how fast July has gone - I looked at the date today and couldn't believe it's already the 27th!!  Summer has finally hit here in Powell Butte - been over 90 degrees this week.  I'm truly not a "hot" person (oops!!); YOU know what I mean - I don't do well with heat; but we will just enjoy (endure) while it's here, knowing it will be gone soon......

When I first saw this stamp set hydrangeas came to mind!!  We had them right out the living room window when I was growing up.  After I married, and moved to central Oregon, we could no longer grow them - much too cold in the winter.  STILL love them and love going to the "valley" when they are blooming!!  

 

I decided to go with a CAS (clean and simple) card this time around.  I did use the Clear Wink of Stella to highlight the petals and added some small pearls.  

 

SO easy to cut out with the Beautiful Thinlits Dies!!

Mediterranean Cruise Swaps

It's always fun to see what fellow demonstrators come up for swaps and the Mediterranean Cruise was no exception in brilliance

I'm going to share a few swaps I received - some I have names and some I don't, so I'll give credit where I know!!

 

I don't know who made this card, but I absolutely think it's gorgeous!  It's soft yet stunning!  Love the three separate panels

The stamp set is Wild About Flowers (138728)

The creator used Gold Foil Sheets (132622) behind the panels and embossed the sentiment in gold!

 

I do know who made this one - Dawn Griffith

The black with White Embossing really makes this a "movie star" card!

 

I don't know who made this one, but LOVE it!!  Love the square gatefold opening made with the scalloped layering squares - going to have to try this one!!

Sweet Sugarplum Congratulations Card with Emboss Resist

The Sweet Sugarplum card sock is SO beautiful.  I can't seem to get enough of it!!

I promise to use other colors, but right now, this just draws me in!!

Here's a fabulous card I made using the Emboss Resist Technique

Have you tried that.  

Stamp your images in VersaMark Ink and then use heat emboss with White Embossing Powder.  

Next you sponge ink all over - once you get the color you want, use a tissue to wipe off the ink and the stamped images will "resist" the ink!  Beautiful technique!

Stunning, eh?  This would make a wonderful Wedding card

Slider Cards

I have made a few "slider" cards in my day and they are SO fun!  They seem kind of complicated, but really aren't.  I will do a little tutorial soon, but wanted to share the one I made recently!!

They are SO easy now that we have the Sliding Star Framelits (page 192 in the Annual Catalog)  

Yes the bee slides around when you give the card a little shake, shake, shake.  He's actually mounted on two pennies - so this card is worth AT LEAST 2 cents!!

Shaker Cards - always fun!

Have you ever received a Shaker Card?  They are SO fun and always a treat

Here's one I did using the new Jar of Love Stamp Set and our Foam Adhesive Strips - these make shaker cards SO easy

I'm doing a shaker card in a workshop next week and I'll add a tutorial so you can see how they are done, but wanted to share this one

Just so cute and fun!  I used the Metallic Sequins for the "shakers"

More Pineapple......Can you believe it? A Pineapple??

Pineapples are definitely the "in" thing

Here's another pineapple card - quick and easy

I inked up the pineapple in So Saffron and then added some Delightful Dijon with a sponge dauber

And I masked off the top and bottom to get the two colors
