Lynn used a piece of card stock 11" x 4 1/4"  

She scored at 3 1/4" x 5 1/2" and then folded the front part back and added some Tear & Tape to make a pocket on the left side!

Clever, eh?  Perfect for any occasion where you want to give a gift card.

Hostess Gift from March - small box plus 3" x 3" Love Notes

I just found these pictures and realize that I forgot to share this fun project here.  I made this set of cards for my hostesses in March!  LOVED making them as they went together really fast!

First the box - I had a friend contact me as she saw this box on Pinterest and wanted to know if I had the measurements.  Thanks, Renee, for bringing this to my attention!   I tracked them down from the original poster and then I just had to make up the box for these little notes.

I added 10 of the 3" x 3" notes with envelopes and they fit in beautifully.  

For the cards, I used a 6" x 3" piece of coordinating card stock and added a 2 7/8" x 2 7/8 piece of English Garden Designer Series Paper.  This is a GREAT way to use up scraps.  I had a ton of scraps from another project.  then I just added some sentiment from the  stamp set "And Many More".  Quick and easy and a great gift idea! 

The English Garden DSP is now gone as it was While Supplies Last, but you could use any designer series paper to make these little cards!!

Thanks go to Sabrina for the box directions.  You can find them here   I recommend using our Kraft Cardstock( 133674) for the box as it's sturdy.  Regular card stock wold work also.  I used the Shine on Specialty Designer Seires Paper (140579) which is soon retiring!  LOVE that paper!

Mediterranean Achievers Blog Hop May 2016

I decided to use the Painter's Palette Stamp Set and coordinate it with the brand new Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Paper and the Copper embossing Powder.  These products are completely WOW!!  The Designer Series Paper has copper in the specialty paper and is just beautiful.  I also added a little bit of Washi Tape 

 

 

This specialty designer series paper coordinates with another stamp set called Love & Affection, so there are LOTS of coordination in the products in the new catalog

 

At On Stage Live in Salt Lake City, Carrie Cudney shared a great tip for making quick cards and using up our "hoards" of paper - do you have that problem?  Cutting into the beautiful paper and USING it?  Me too.......

 

I took the Navy and Crumb Cake paper and cut it 4 1/4" X 4".   I then cut it diagonally - you now have a great space to add a sentiment.  I added some Washi Tape and then embossed the paint palette and added it to the center!  LOVE how it turned out.  I can see this paper will definitely be a favorite in the new catalog, which you can begin ordering from on June 1st.

Botanical Builder Framelits Technique

This is the other project we made in our April club meetings and I'm slow getting it posted.  Reason why I'm slow?  We leave in just a few days for our Mediterranean Cruise and I keep getting distracted with things to remember to do and if I don't do them when I think of them, I probably will forget.  So.....I'm doing a LOT of bouncing around!!  Yes, we ARE excited and can't believe it's almost here.  

And just so you know, we won't have internet on the ship, but will have when we stop in port, so if you want to see pictures, please feel free to find me on Facebook, Jan Farring, and I will be posting on there - you can "friend" me, and/or you can follow my business page here and "like" me.   I will post pictures whenever I can!

But I digress - back to my card.  I saw this great technique on how to use the "vine" in the Botanical Builder Framelits set on a gate fold card.  I know you will love this technique!

Here's a little "picture" tutorial

Start with a piece of card stock measuring 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Score at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8" (normal scoring for a gate fold card)

Fold up both sides to the center and lay out the "vine" from the Botanical Builder Framelits

Note that I have it close to the top on the right side and close to the side on the bottom

Add a piece of Washi Tape to just the right side

Open up the card and place it on your magnetic platform and an acrylic plate on top and bottom

Run it through the Big Shot and then close up the card and add a piece of Washi Tape to the bottom piece

Gently take off the Washi Tape on the right side and again open up the card and run it through the Big Shot

The top piece will come off easily 

You will now CUT off the left piece - NOTE****this can be confusing, so carefully line up and cut on the SCORE line from the top down to the vine

Now you have your vine cut and you can finish your card

I made a "belly band" so it would stay together

Measurements

Card Stock 9 1/2" x 1" 

Scored at 3" and 7 3/8"

Designer Series Paper 4 1/4" x 3/4"

Creative Art - unbelievable

I just have to share this beautiful project made by one of my local friends.  Betty is a real artist and her work is just exquisite!  I really felt honored that she wanted me to see this project before she takes it to the library and puts it on display.  Needless to say, I'll be looking forward to seeing it displayed!

Isn't that just beautiful.  It's all made with paper - Pink Pirouette is the base.  

These flowers are so beautiful - Betty is the "queen" of roses!!  Don't you think she did a wonderful job?

I just had to share this because I KNOW you will all appreciate Betty's beautiful work!

Another Pop-Up Book Birthday Card

I had to make the Pop-Up Book Card using the beautiful Birthday Blooms Stamp Set and coordinating Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper.  These are probably one of my absolute all time favorites that are in the 2016 Occasions Catalog.  SO happy the stamp set is continuing on in the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog!  Whoot Whoot!
