This card was designed by my friend Marilyn McCrea for a Shoebox Swap we attended at On Stage a couple of weeks ago.  She really put a LOT of work into this card and I was fortunate enough to be able to make it!!

Swap Cards from On Stage

As most of you know I attended the On Stage Event sponsored by Stampin' Up last week in Salt Lake City.   In the past, it's always been in July, so this time it was different - we had rain, rain, rain and even some snow!  It was rather a bit chilly most of the time.  We stay in a condo that a good friend is able to rent and it's a bit of a walk (about 2 1/2" long blocks), which is great because we get some exercise, but since it was raining, and one of our roommates was local and had her car, we were able to ride down to the convention center, get our Starbucks which is just across the street from the convention center.  So it was really GREAT!!

Over the next few days I'll be sharing some of my favorite swaps - oh these ladies are SO talented and I am picking out a few of these and sharing them with you!!

Isn't this just stunning!  This was made by Jo Rauch and she put a LOT of work into it!!  LOVE that it's a card for ANYONE!  Masculine, feminine, child.......

One more Swap - Sunburst Thinlits Dies

Have you checked out the Sunburst Thinlits Dies on page 25 of the 2016 Occasions Catalog - easy to overlook, but SO worthwhile owning.  If you like the Sunburst effect, this thinlit makes it SO easy!  I have made some "sunburst" cards in the past by hand, but this thinlit just makes the cutting a SNAP!!

Here are two different cards I made for swapping at the Stampin' Up On Stage Live Event.  Such bright and fun cards and easy to make!

I just added some of the It's My Party Designer Series Paper from the stack, cut out the Sunburst and added a sentiment.  Whew!  Done so quickly!

Leftovers - do you like them?

I LOVE leftovers because it makes the next day SO easy - just heat them up and dinner is ready!  What about with cards?  Do you have "leftovers" and don't know what to do with them?  I used the Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper Stack for my Shoebox Swap, but had a piece of the designer series paper left over - it was about 2" x 6".  I just couldn't throw that away, so I used the "leftovers" to make this card for swapping

How cute is that and you would NEVER imagine is was created with "leftovers"

Organized Swaps at Stampin' Up Events

There is general swapping at Stampin' Up Events and then there are "organized" swaps.  I belong to a wonderful group of Demonstrators call Simply Unique Demonstrators Shaing On Line (SUDSOL).  This group of ladies are SO helpful.  Have a question?  Usually an answer in seconds!  No Kidding.  Interested in learning more?  Just click here.  It's like having a bunch of Uplines Demonstrators right at your fingertips!  

So....we do an "organized" swap with other SUDSOL demonstrators.  We get together and swap our cards - these are full cards that we can share, get ideas from and send out to others!  Really fun

A quite simple card, but LOVE how it turned out.  The Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper is just beautiful!!

May Stamp of the Month Kit

This post is going out early because my plan was to do the Going Global Suite for the May Stamp of the Month Kit.  These items are on the retiring list and I thought I would offer it now, so the items will still be available.

 

Wonder what the Stamp of the Month Kit is?  If you have ever purchased stamp and accessories and then didn’t know what to do with them when you received them, I have the solution.  You purchase the kit (at a discount), and I will send you the kit and three projects to do up immediately.  The kit includes the stamp set and whatever else I choose in making the card kits.  I don’t include adhesives, ink and stamped images (per Stampin' Up rules), and you can substitute what you have.  These projects are fun and easy to do.  I will send you a pdf file by email with the instructions and pictures for each project and the actual product to make three projects will be included in your kit!  Plus I will include additional samples that you can use to create even more cards and projects!!
