I saw these darling little treat boxes on another demonstrators website (Chic 'n Scratch) and just had to try them I ended up making 16 last night in about 1 1/2 hours - filled them with candy and sent them off today to all my kids/grandkids! They were fun and so easy to make!
These hold 5 Rolos and could probably hold two small Hershey's candies
Here's a little tutorial - don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions
- Start with a piece of Real Red Card Stock that measures 8 1/2" x 5". Score at 2", 4", 6" and 8" on the long side. Then turn and score at 2" and 3"
2. Using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, punch a tag between the 6" and 8" score lines. Line up the tag punch between these two - you can see the score lines by turning over the punch - you will need to push your card stock down into the punch
3. Do the same thing between the 2" and 4" score lines. It should look like this
4. Cut off the 1/2" area from each end to the center - you will a small 1" tab left
5
. Fold on all the score lines and score from the top of each tag 1"
6. Cut from the bottom to the score line and from the top to the score lines. I found if I angled the cut on the top pieces it worked very well
7. Add a piece of Tear & Tape to the tab (top) and also to one of the bottom tabs - find the "front" (which would be the tag between the 2" x 4" scores). Add Tear and Tape - this will be the piece that is folded last to hold the box together
8. Fold the box flat and adhere together with the small tab. Then fold up the bottom tabs with the adhesive the last one. Your box is assembled!!
9. Cut a piece of Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper 1 7/8" wide and about 6" - then cut 4 strips 7/8" wide and 2 strips 3/4" wide. Adhere these to the front and tops pieces. Add your treats and use a piece of ribbon to close it up!!
These were fun and quick to make! If you are needing a last minute treat holder, these are perfect!
