One of the absolutely most fun things we do at Stampin' Up events is swapping. What is swapping? We make card fronts and then swap them with other demos. I LOVE this tradition, because there are SO many talented people out there and I receive many wonderful ideas. The following card is ONE of these that I swapped at the recent "On Stage" event held in Vancouver, Washington a couple of weeks ago.
This technique was shared by Kate Kurfess and she had all the instructions for me to recreate this technique to share with my club members and with YOU!
Stampin' Up sells beautiful glimmer paper, but NOT this color
How did I come up with this background color? Read on.....
As you can see it is a "night sky" The picture DOES NOT do this card justice, so you MUST try ot and you will be SO pleased
You start with the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper!!
HUH? How does THAT become the above?
Using an Aqua Painter, fill it 3/4 full with rubbing alcohol
Then add Night of Navy Ink Refill - I added about 15 drops
Spread the color all over the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper with the Aqua Painter until you get a really dark shade
Then add Pacific Point Ink Refill again to an aqua painter filled 3/4 with rubbing alcohol
Add the Pacific Point to the Night of Navy background.
This gives is a great effect!!
And THAT makes your beautiful "Night Sky"
I added this piece (cut 5" x 3 3/4") to a Night of Navy piece cut 5 1/4" x 4" then to the Thick Whisper White Card Base 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
I stamped the trees from Happy Scenes Stamp Set and also cut out the trees with the Sleigh Ride Edgelits
Definitely not a hard card to make. I hope you will try this unique technique!!
