One of the projects I shared at our club meetings this month was the Gift Card Holder - I'm calling it a "Double Pocket" because that is what it is and is SO easy to do and turns out just right every time!! I saw this on Pinterest and it was made by Di Barnes.
If you're looking for a quick, easy card/gift card holder, this is IT! It can be a card too - not only a gift card holder.
That special card for the favorite people this holiday
Inside
Don't you just LOVE it?
I made up a quick tutorial since everyone wanted the measurements and directions. Supplies will be below - and you go right to my online store to place your order
Start with one piece of 12" x 12" double sided Designer Series Paper
Score at 2", 6" and 10"
Turn paper one turn and score at 2 1/2" and 8"
Fold and burnish on both the 2" score lines
Fold each corner up to the 2" score line
When done, it should look like this
Fold the 2" score lines in
Flip the piece over and fold on the 2 1/2" and 8" score lines
You now have your card base done - just slip the top edges into the bottom edges and it stays together without any adhesive
Fold along the 6" (or center) score line and your card is done. Burnish well with your bone folder
You can leave it like that or add some ribbon to tie and hold it together
To add ribbon, I cut 32" (that's a little long, but I wanted enough. Fold it around the card and even it up
I'm sure there are great ways to add the ribbon, but I just used a paper piercing tool and poked holes in the sides through the ribbon. I added the Candy Dots Brads through the ribbon on back and front - I didn't go through the card, but just slipped the brad through the top layer. I added some of the Home for Christmas Enamel Dots to the brads and to the insides to cover up the hole I punched
This is how it looks with the brads through the ribbon
Then I added the enamel dots to the inside to cover up the holes
And the insides measurements
Real Red 5" x 3 1/2" (2)
Whisper White 5 3/4" x 3 1/4" (2)
Quick and Easy and So fun to make!
Here's the same designer series paper just done the opposite way
So you have LOTS of options!!
