I don't usually share much about our personal life on my blog - but I really wanted to share our recent experiences as it's why I haven't done much stamping lately.
As some of you know, I attended the Stampin' Up Convention in Salt Lake City, recently. We left on Tuesday, July 21 and until Friday had a marvelous time. I was in a session on Friday and received a phone call. I didn't recognize the number, so decided to ignore it until after we got out of our class. After class, I saw there was a voice mail, so listened to it. "Honey, I'm in the Prineville hospital and they are going to air life me to Bend. I have a hurt head....."
Can you imagine getting this message when you are away from home. Sam was by himself and was on a step ladder building shelves in our big shop. He fell off backwards and hit his head on a metal bar!! He was unconscious - for how long we don't know.....but the next thing he knew someone was calling his name.
Our neighbor was driving by our place and saw water running down the ditch. He wondered why and was concerned that maybe we had a leak in the water pipes. Sam used to work with this neighbor, but in all of the 15 years + years they have lived up the road, he has never stopped. He even thought to himself, no I won't bother Sam, then decided to pull in and say hello. He found Sam laying on the floor unconscious and bleeding profusely. He wrapped his head in a towel he found, and took him to the hospital.
They did a CT scan and found a subarachnoid hemorage and possibly an aneurysm. So they planned to air life him to Bend, and had him all strapped down and ready to go, when they received another emergency call. So they took him to Bend (about 30 miles) in an ambulance.
Three of our kids immediately let their homes and headed to the hospital (the girls live 150 miles away and one son lives about 300 miles away). Dear friends went to the hospital to be with him.
My 4 roommates kept me from falling apart and helped me get a flight to Redmond. I got to the hospital about 11:00 that night and by that time they had done another CT and found it wasn't an aneurysm (thank goodness!).
He stayed in the hospital until Sunday. He felt great on Sunday and Monday and the on Tuesday starting getting massive throbbing headaches. We filled his prescription for Tylenol with Codeine and by Thursday that started reacting and making him violently ill. So back to the emergency room - where they admitted him and finally by Saturday he was able to come home again.
He's feeling MUCH better today and now the struggle will be to keep him down so the brain can heal!!
So.....that's my story and why I haven't been able to do any stamping. So for now I will share some of my swaps from convention and know you will understand.
Oh, and BTW, as a demonstrator I was able to place my pre-order from the Holiday Catalog. We saw many of the items at the convention and oh, you will be SO thrilled. I can't wait to get them and start playing!!
And on to stamping............
This card just really took my fancy. I really wasn't too sure about the Cucumber Crush color until I saw this card. It's just plain AWESOME. Shared by Christina Rambo
Don't you just LOVE it. The striped paper is from the 2015-2017 In-Color Envelope Paper (138312) a new product for this year! Christina used the Butterflies Thinlits (137350) and Butterfly Basics Stamp Set (138816) and the new Cucumber Crush 1" Dotted Lace Trim (138423). And she used the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder for the background (133739)
This card was created by Michelle Acohido
I LOVE how the little strip of Silver Glimmer Paper just sets it off!
Michelle used the hostess stamp set Happy Birthday, Everyone (139958) for the sentiment, Wild About Flowers (138728). So soft and pretty!
This swap didn't have a name, but LOVE how the creator stamped once in Tip Top Taupe and then stamped again in VersaMark and white embossed it. It's almost a shadow effect
The stamp set is Serene Silhouettes (127324) and the sentiment is from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits (137547). She also incorporated the Arrows Embossing Folder (132187) and some Designer Series Paper from the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack (138441)
I will be back tomorrow with more swaps and I AM working on a tutorial for the Doggie cared I shared recently!!
OMG! So glad he is doing better! How scary for you to go through! Hugs Kay

Oh Jan, so sorry to hear about your husband's accident. Thank goodness for good neighbours! I received a phone call once from my daughter and the first words out of her mouth were "Now Mom, don't panic". That time disaster was averted. I don't know what I would have done had I received bad news. Tell him we expect him to be a good boy and to get well quick!! God bless.
