August Stamp of the Month

Already time for the Stamp of the Month - can't believe how fast July has gone!  What with my retired stamp sale and then the Stampin' Up Convention - I was chasing my tail!!  

Wonder what the Stamp of the Month Kit is?  If you have ever purchased stamp and accessories and then didn’t know what to do with them when you received them, I have the solution.  You purchase the kit (at a discount), and I will send you the kit and three projects to do up immediately.  The kit includes the stamp set and whatever else I choose in making the card kits.  I don’t include adhesives, ink and stamped images (per Stampin' Up rules), and you can substitute what you have.  These projects are fun and easy to do.  I will send you a pdf file by email with the instructions and pictures for each project and the actual product to make three projects will be included in your kit!  Plus I will include additional samples that you can use to create even more cards and projects!!

Friendship Gifts for my Stampin' Buddies

It's always fun to take some gifts to my roommates and stamping buddies and since is the last year of Inspire, Share Create in Salt Lake City, some of them I won't get to see so often!!  {SAD FACE!!!}

So I made Flip Flop Albums for each of them and I will be busy taking pictures so they can have a little album to remember this year!!

It's very hard to get a good pictures of the Flip Flop Album since it's quite wide, but I did my best.  I do have a tutorial for this album, so please let me know if you would like one.  These are SO fun to make and give.  The year after my mother passed away, I made these albums for my siblings with old pictures - they definitely were a HIT!!

These albums will hold 9 - 4" x 6" pictures and more if you make them smaller.  Excellent for gifts.  Grandma's brag books. travel albums - just a quick album to put together to commemorate any occasion

Since I made 15 of them, I'll have to share in a couple of posts.  Here's one using the Bohemian Designer Series Paper

There are five panels - three with "doors".  You just fold it up and tie it with a ribbon!

I used the Beautiful Bunch Stamp Set to make the "door closures" on the inside.  

I printed out the logo for the Stampin' Up Convention for the front to coordinate with the paper!

Had such fun making these - actually made 15 of them.  I'll share more tomorrow!

Thank you swap

Often I find myself without ideas - so one thing I have started doing is checking Pinterest for card layout ideas.  Sometimes that will spark something in my brain.  I saw this as a layout (sketch) and loved how it turned out!!

The Designer Series Paper Stacks are wonderful sometimes just for adding color and variety to your cards.  This is what I used here - the 2015-2015 Designer Series Paper Stacks - all brand new this year!  Love the stripes, dots and flowers for the background!!

Organized Swaps

Another fun way to swap, is to join an "organized" swap.  Can't say I'm so organized, but I made up 48 swaps and we swap with 48 different ladies at a pre-arranged time.  This is the SUDSOL swap.  SUDSOL stands for Stampin' Up Demonstrators Sharing On Line.  This is a wonderful group of demonstrators who share online - if you don't have an active upline, this is a wonderful replacement.  Everyone on this list is so quick to help with anything that comes up!!

Pansies Swap

We all love flowers and I just had to make some for one of my swaps.  This was a very quick and easy card yet LOVE how it turned out

It seems I don't have a lot of stamp sets with "stems";  I searched through the catalog and everyone that had a stem was a set I didn't have.....except Butterfly Basics!  Whew!!

I just LOVE the font on the Tin of Cards Stamp Set.  You will be seeing me use this stamp set often in the next few months.  It just stands out so nicely!!

I used the Pansy Punch to cut out the flowers - are you wondering what the centers are?  These are the new White Perfect Accents - these are adhesive back accents - I needed the white, but you can color them with Sharpies for a totally different effect!

More Swaps

Can you imagine 300 ladies standing in a hall swapping cards?  Yep - hard to imagine, but that is what we do.  While waiting for the General Sessions to start, we stand around and swap samples.  Most of the samples we make are card fronts - saves oodles of card stock.  These ladies are SO creative and work so hard to do their best work

Here's a general swap I made with the help of my sister - she saw this layout on Pinterest and so we just had to make it - changed it a bit with different paper, embossing folder, stamp set, but LOVE it

Lots of babies coming, so this will be perfect!
