The corner fold card has been very popular lately and I just LOVE how they turn out - they are easy and fun to make and really pack a WOW!! We made these in our club meetings in June. I hope you enjoy seeing them - of course I had to make a few which I'll share over the next few days!
The Corner Fold is unique - notice how the inside of the card really "frames" the front!
Here's a little tutorial - as you can see it's NOT hard to make
Start with a piece of card stock cut 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4"
Place the FRONT of the card in your Stampin' Trimmer with the edge on the 3" mark
Set your cutting blade on the 2 1/2" mark and cut down to the 4 7/8" line
Turn the card 90 degrees and again line up the edge at the 3" mark - the previous cut line will be on the 3" mark - cut UP from the 3" line to 5/8"
Next step is to run the front through the Big Shot using the Fluttering Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. TIP: This folder is 6" x 6", so must be lined up evenly so it will run through the Big Shot!
Next step is to fold the corner
Fold the corner cut and turn it down. Line up the folded piece with the scored card
Burnish the folded pieces well with the bone folder. You can add adhesive to the folded piece so it will lay flat - I used a glue dot
Measurements for the front pieces
Basic Black 2 7/8" x 2 7/8"
Smoky Slate 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"
Whisper White 2 5/8" x 2 5/8"
Stamp the flower from the Hostess Set Best Thoughts in Smoky Slate on the Whisper White 2 5/8" x 2 5/8"
Stamp Happy Birthday from Tin of Cards Stamp Set in Black Memento Ink over the flower
Attach Whisper White to Smoky Slate and then to Basic Black and attach to front of card
For the inside. Cut Basic Black 5 1/4" x 4"
Cut Whisper White 5" x 3 3/4"
Stamp sentiment for inside on Whisper White making sure it's low enough to not show. I used "A birthday wish that's just for you" from Remembering Your Birthday Stamp Set
A very fun and unique card. Hope you will try it!
