And one last swap - yes I've been busy!!

Yes I've been busy this past week - made almost 200 cards for swapping.  As a stamper, one of the things we LOVE to do at convention is STAMP!  Well, duh!!  That's what we DO, right?  For the past three years or so, we have done a shoebox Swap.  That is where we take a project with everything ready to make and we all get to stamp each other's projects.  That is SO much fun!  These gals bring such WONDERFUL projects and we spend a few hours making them up!!  LOVE this part of convention. 

Here's my project for the Shoebox Swap - a "Tent" card

  

Rather unique, eh?  The card base is cut 8" x 4" and scored at 4".  You add the "topper" to make it a 5 1/2" card!!

"Organized" Swap for the Stampin' Up Convention

Another "fun" thing we do at convention is "organized" swaps.  I'm totally NOT an organized person, but these organized swaps are great - we make a certain amount of swaps as laid out by the organizer and we swap with ladies.  Lots of ideas from these swaps.  This swap I made is for the SUDSOL Swap.  SUDSOL is "Simply Unique Demonstrators Sharing On Line."  It's a great group of demonstrators who share not only at convention, but all year long.  If you are demonstrator and would like a GREAT group who is SO helpful with questions, comments, encouragement. Another swap for the Stampin' UP Convention

I finally pulled myself out of the "blues" and made a totally different colored swap.  I used the new "In-Colors" Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss.  I have to tell you we had a class on Saturday and I used these two new colors PLUS the Lost Lagoon and Mossy Meadow - the gals LOVED them.  If you haven't ordered the new colors yet, you can get them in a bundle - all five pads PLUS a pack of 20 sheets of the coordinating card stock for just $29.95.  That's like paying 20c for the paper!! The item number is 133673.  I really recommend these colors - they are gorgeous!

Isn't this an interesting card?  I LOVE it.  If you are wondering how it cut the top, just put in the largest Floral Frames Framelit - when you run it through the Big Shot, just cover the top part of the framelit with your acrylic pad - it will only cut what you have covered!  Neat, eh?

Yep the time has come - for another Stampin' Up Convention in Salt Lake City.  I'm TOTALLY excited and almost ready....just have to pack the last minute things!

One of the most FUN things about convention are the swaps.  Yes, us crazy demonstrators make LOTS of swap and we literally stand around in the halls and swap card fronts!  What fun

June Club Demonstration

I always try to share something as a demonstration at my monthly card club meetings.  This month I focused on a Simply Created Gift Box set in the brand new catalog.  It's call A Little Sumthin' Sumthin' Simply Created Gift Box.  When we attended the 2014-2016 Catalog Premiere, Donna Griffith from Stampin' Up shared these projects and I fell in LOVE with them.

 

 

This little kit is a great value and includes 

10 pillowboxes

10 die-cut word bubbles

10 bellybands

10 mini clothespins

10 wood sticks

10 sheets of precut cotton paper

10 pieces of Real Red 3/8” Stitched Satin Ribbon

These make darling little gift boxes – just right for a gift card or other small gifts

And…..I’m going to share some additional ideas for you to create with this little kit

 

And it coordinates perfectly with the Sumthin’ Sumthin’ Stamp set (134522 W 134525 C, page 8)

 

                          

These are the pillowboxes that can be made with the original instructions included in the kit

 

 

 

I shared three other projects you can make with these pillowboxes

 

Shorter Version

 

 Cut out 1” from the center of the pillowbox

 
 

Attach two end pieces together with Sticky Tape 

Stamp “Surprise” on the Bellyband using the Silver Encore Pad (132142)

 

Add Bellyband to cover the Sticky Tape

Using the Banner Punch (133519) cut out a banner from the leftover 1” piece and add to front of bellyband.  Cut a piece of Real Red Ribbon and add to front.  Tie linen thread around

 

Extended Pillowbox

 

Cut Pillowbox at the center mark (2 1/8”)

 Mark bellyband on back at 3/8”

 

Cut silver cotton paper to 1” and then in half

Add sticky tape and add to belly band along the pencil marks

Add pillow box pieces to center of bellyband and wrap around

Curl silver cotton paper with bone folder

  

Candy Holder

 
 

Cut pillowbox on the angle marking 1” from top right and bottom left. 

 

Stamp Hooray! Hooray! on word bubble and attach with mini clothes pin

Add candy

Isn't that just the coolest - LOVE it when products go a LONG ways!!

I added some adhesive and some candy bags to this kit!!  That's ALL!

June Stampin' Up Club Project - Black and White All Over

I found this beautiful card on my Stampin' Connection (a demo-only website for sharing wonderful ideas!!).  I just had to share this with my club members and they LOVED it - and I know you will too.  Thanks go out to Sally Trotter for this idea!

Just stunning with lots of EMBOSSING - my favorite technique!

Instructions:

Cut Basic Black Card Stock 8 ½” x 10 ½”.  Score on the 10 ½” side at 3 ½” and 7”.  Fold accordion style

Cut three pieces of Whisper White Card Stock 8 ¼” x 3 ¼”;  Cut two pieces of Basic Black Card Stock 8” x 3”

Stamp Dahlia on one Whisper White piece (8 ¼” x 3 ¼”) in Black Staz-on.  Add sentiment and adhere this piece to the center piece of your card base

 

Center Panel

Stamp Dahlia on Basic Black (I recommend using an Embossing Buddy for a clean emboss) with VersaMark and emboss with White Embossing Powder.  See picture below for placement

 

                     Front Panel                                            Back Panel

        

Stamp 4 dahlias in VersaMark on Vellum and emboss with white embossing powder.  Cut out one large dahlia; cut another layer with the 2^nd embossed dahlia and a third smaller center with 3^rd Dahlia.  Layer them together with dimensionals.  Add to front basic black embossed piece

 

Cut out the 4^th Dahlia and cut it in half and add it to the 2^nd basic black embossed piece

Add front black embossed piece to Whisper White 8 ¼” x 3 ¼” and adhere to front panel adding ribbon under this piece.  You will wrap the ribbon around the back of the card and tie in a bow

Add remaining black embossed piece to last Whisper White 8 ¼” x 3 ¼” piece and adhere to 3^rd panel

 

                                                                                    Card Open

One Sheet Wonder Class Saturday, July 12

If you are free and local, I would like to invite you to my One Sheet Wonder class to be held on Saturday, July 12th.  We will be learning the One Sheet Wonder Technique - one of my very FAVORITE techniques.  We will make 8 cards using this technique and it's one you will love because it's SO easy.
