The "oldie but goodie" Herringbone Technique is back - this time using Washi Tape - how fun and easy to do! Love the great backgrounds you can make with this technique.
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Simply Celebrate (133221 W, 133224 C, page 30 Occasions Catalog)
Card Stock: Coastal Cabana, Whisper White
Ink: Coastal Cabana
Retro Fresh This and That Designer Washi Tape (133001, page 19 Occasions Catalog)
Big Shot: Starburst Framelits Dies (132967); Circles #2 Originals Die (113526, page 192)
Instructions:
- Cut a piece of Whisper White Card Stock 5 1/4” x 4”. Start adding Washi Tape first with a piece diagonally across the card stock
2. Then lay a piece at a 90% angle as in above picture. You now have two “V’s” . Start adding washi tape to one section filling in the “V” area.
3. Fill in the 2nd “V” section and then do the other side until all areas are covered.
And here’s the finished product
Add to card base and then add sentiments!!
And here's another sample using the Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Peachy Keen (133110 W, 133113 C, page 18 Occasions Catalog)
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Gold Foil Sheets (132622, page 23 Occasions Catalog)
Ink: VersaMark and Gold Embossing Powder
Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape (133000, page 22 Occasions Catalog)
Big Shot: Deco Labels Collection Framelits
I cut out the sentiment with the smallest Deco Label Framelit and then used the smallest and next to the smallest and cut out a frame with the Gold Foil Sheet. I then “embedded” the sentiment in to the Golf Foil Frame. LOVE how it turned out. With the Herringbone background, you don’t need a lot of additional embellishments as it POPs on its own!
