Valentine's Treat Holders

Still looking for Valentine's treat holders?  Just had to share what my daughter did for her kids!!  These are SO cute and totally simple to make!!

So the coffee cups are the miin sized ones from Web Restaurant Store.  Heidi used designer paper to make "sleeves" and added the little owl" on top!!  HOW CUTE is that!! 

The little Valentine's are made with the Envelope Punch Board. 

Cut a piece of card stock (or designer series paper) 5" x 3"

Score at 2 1/2" and 2 3/4"

 

Line up the 3" side at 3" and punch.  Flip over and do the same on the other side.

Fold and attach candy inside - add some hearts, ribbon!!

Another Painter's Tape Technique Masculine Card

I'm really hooked on this technique!  LOVE it.  Hre's another one using the Painter's Tape Technique!  LOVE the background!

SO easy to do and you can use any colors you fancy!!

I used Marina Mist, Soft Suede and Wild Wasabi

Card Stock:  Early Espresso, Very Vanilla

Painter's Tape Technique; Masculine Birthday Card

So I discovered this popular "Painter's Tape" Technique.  Can't get enough of it.  It's SO fun.  We made this card at our club meetings in January

You can purchase painter's tape at the dollar store for $1 - duh!!  It's fun to use to get different background effects!!

Just place the painter's tape over your stamp pad transferring ink to the tape lightly with your finger and then place the tape on your card stock.  GENTLY pull it off - it CAN tear the paper!

Pretty Easy!  I used Crumb Cake, Soift Sky and Blushing Bride and then stamped the images in Early Espresso.

Just LOVE this card - I might have shared it earlier, as it was a swap I used for Leadership.  It uses the new Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper (132994) in the Occasions Catalog! 

Gold is "in" this year - this card usees the brand new Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum (133363).  We embossed the dahlia and the sentiment.  Easy and a really stunning card!!

And the Lego card - a very popular one especially for our family as we have 4 grandsons and they all LOVE legos!

January Club Project - Valentine's Card

I love Valentine's Day and especially making masculine cards because they are such a challenge.  Am I saying men are challenging?  Yep - but making cards for them are even MORE challenging.  The new Hardwood Stamp in the Occasions Catalog just calls out to be used for masculine cards!!  Love it!  It's a background stamp and I have a little tip on how to get a good stamp with the background stamps!

First here's the card!  Don't you just LOVE that background?

To get a good, even stamp with a background stamp, apply the ink by turning your stamp over and patting the ink on.  Leave the stamp, rubber-side up and add your card stock to the top.  I use an old piece of grid paper and lay it over top and then gently rub the entire stamp.  Easy, peasy!!

Stamp Set:  Hardwood (133032 W, 133035 C, page 37 Occasions Catalog); Love You to the Moon (133140 W, 133143 C, page 25 Occasions Catalog)

Card Stock:  Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Red Glimmer Paper (121790)

Ink:  Soft Suede, Early Espresso

Punch:  Small Heart (117193, page 183)

Big Shot:  Hearts Collection Framelits (125599, page 187)

Stamp on the front of the card; cut out using the 3rd from smallest Heart Framelit.  Sponge the edges of the heart.  Add adhesive to the inside around the heart and adhere a piece of Soft Suede Card Stock.  Stamp "Love" in the center.  Add red glimmer hearts with dimensionals.

A very quick and easy card, but LOVE it!!

More Valentine Treat Holders

Looking for something that will hold LOTS of candy?  Here's a great treat holder that is quick and easy to make.  I'll just share a quick tutorial for you - be sure and let me know if you have any questions!!

 

Cute, eh?

1.  Cut a piece of Real Red card stock 3 1/2" x 8 1/2".  Score on the 8 1/2" side at 2", 4", 6" and 8" and on the short side at 1/2"

2.  Fold on all score lines and cut out as shown in picture

3.  Using the Extra Large Oval Punch (119859), punch out a window in the 2nd panel from the left (the one you cut out). 

4.  Trim off the extra so you have an opening

 
  

5.  Add Sticky Strip to the 1/2" tab end.  Flip over the add Sticky Strip to the smaller tabs on the bottom (three).  Fold up along the side to make the box

6.  Fold up the bottom three flaps.  The Sticky Strip will be inside

7.  Cut a piece of Real Red Card Stock 4" x 3".  Score along the 4" side at 1" and 3".  Score the 3" side at 1".  Trim as shown

8.  Fold on score lines and slide the longer section into the box.  Press down on the exposed sticky strip. 

9.  Lid:  Cut a piece of Real Red card stock 4" square.  Use a shim on the Stampin' Scoring Tool to make the lid a smidge bitter.   I made a shim from a piece of window sheet - added card stock along one side.  Place it on the side of the scoring tool - you card stock will be placed alongside the shim.  Score 1" on all sides

10.  Cut side on each tab.  Add Sticky Strip to each tab and fold up to make th elid.

11.  I used the Fresh Prints Designer Paper Stack (132996).  Cut three pieces 2 7/8" x 1 7/*' and adhere to three sides of box.  Cut another piece 2 1/4" x 1 7/8" and using the Extra Large Oval Punch again, take out a "bite" and adhere to front. 

12.  Cut 5 pieces 1 7/8" x 7/8" - adhere to front bottom tab and around lid.  Cut a piece of DSP 1 7/8" square for top of lid

13.  Stamp the heart from Language of Love (W 133074, C 133077) in Real Red and punch out with Full Heart Punch (119883),  Attach to front of lid. 

14.  Make a flower with the Spiral Flour Originals Die (129379) and attach to top of box with mini glue dots!!

15.  Add candy........of course!!
