The latest craze are the really cool Scallop Tag Topper Cards - these are SO fun and easy to do! I thought I would share a little tutorial on how to do them - let me know if you have any questions about them!
Isn't that just the coolest? I watched a video from a gal from Australia - decided you would probably enjoy a tutorial.
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Sketched Birthday (Hostess Set, 129669 W, 129672 C page 205)
Card Stock: Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White; Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper (132994, Occasions Catalog page 23)
Ink: Wisteria Wonder
Punches: Scallop Tag Topper (133324, Occasions Catalog page 35); Decorative Label Punch (120907, page 181)
Embellishment: 1/8” Silver Ribbon (132137, Occasions Catalog page 23)
Instructions
- Cut Wisteria Wonder 5 ½” x 8 ½” (Do not score as with a regular card).
- Line up the 5 ½” edge at the top of the Stampin’ Trimmer with the right edge at the 1” mark on to the right of the cutting area
3. With a pencil, make a little mark at the top and bottom at the cutting area
You can see where my pencil marks are
4. Gently push your card stock into the Scallop Tag Topper Punch – you can do by pushing down and then pulling through
5. Punch and then gently pull your card stock out of the punch – it will look like this
6. Do the same thing on the other end – you will need to transfer your pencil mark to the backside of the card stock, flip it over and again insert it into the punch lining up the pencil mark on the same edge. You will now have both ends punch
7. The next step is to cut off the edges on either side of the scallop. Line up your edge in the Stampin’ Trimmer and cut off each edge.
Do this to both ends and you will end up with this
8. On one end score the scallop
9. Fold on the score line and line up that side on the 4 ¼” mark on the trimmer. Score
10. Fold on the score line and you have your card base
11. I added a piece of 5 ¼” x 4” in Whisper White to the inside. The measurements for the front piece are Whisper White 5 3/8” x 2 3/8” and the Watercolor Wonder DSP 5 ¼” x 2 ¼”
12. Add your sentiment and any embellishments and then using a piece of ribbon, tie the two “tags” together
