Stamp of the Month Kit for January

WOW - can you believe it?  January is almost here!!  I hope you all have a very Happy and safe New Year!! 

And it's time for the Stamp of the Month again - the months fly SO fast.

If you don't already have it, you should be receiving your new Occasions Catalog 2014 - if you would like to get a preview, you can see it here

So for the Stamp of the Month Kit, we will start the New Year with a brand new set!!     Starburst Sayings

I cannot share actual pictures of the products from the new catalog until it goes live on January 3rd.......so that means I can't actually show you the stamp set, but you can find it on page 34 of the new catalog.


Along with the stamp set are the coordinating  Starburst Framelits dies - oh happy days - these are SO fun! 

And this month's kit will include a roll of the Natural 5/8" Chevron Ribbon

Here are a couple of samples I've been playing with (yes, I CAN show you projects I have made with the products, just not the products themselves)

 

 

Wonder what the Stamp of the Month Club is?  If you have ever purchased stamp and accessories and then didn’t know what to do with them when you get them, I have the solution.  You purchase the kit (at a discount), and I will send you the kit and three projects to do up immediately.  The kit includes the stamp set and whatever else I choose in making the card kits.  I don’t include adhesives, ink and stamped images, so you can substitute what you have.  These projects are fun and easy to do.  I will send you a pdf file by email with the instructions and pictures for each project and the actual product to make three projects will be included in your kit!  Plus I will include additional samples that you can use to create even more cards and projects!!

2.  If you already have this stamp set and/or punch, you can choose product of equal value $18.95 or if you already have the framelits $26.95 or combined value of $38.95  The projects you receive will be for this set.

More Thank You Cards

I"m really loving this large Thank You from the Another Thank you Photopolymer Set.  The font is SO pretty.  Here are a couple of cards I made using the Emboss Resist Technique

I stamped the small "Thank you's" in VersaMark and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. 

Then sponged the Coastal Cabana over the whole card front.  I then stamped the large "Thank You" with Bermuda Bay ink!

Ink:  Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, VersaMark, Clear Embossing Powder

 

And another quick one - really easy

With this card I stamped in VersaMark and heat set with clear embossing powder and then sponged all over it with Coastal Cabana ink.  That's IT!!

What is next?...........

After the holidays, it's easy to feel.....what is next?  I feel that way.....how about THANKS YOU's.......We all have thank you's to send and I wanted to share a few simple "Thank you's" that are quick and easy, but have a real WOW

This is the "painter's tape technique"  Fun technique.  Just take some painter's tape (blue tape), tear off a piece, and rub it gently over you stamp pad.  Then place it on your card stock.  Makes a wonderful background.  I can see myself using this LOTS!!

Backyard Basics Inlay Technique

My Stamp of the Month for December is Backyard Basics - and it's been fun working with this set - something different that holiday cards!!  

One technique I found that I absolutely fell in LOVE with is the "Inlay" technique.  This technique is so cool because it has "faux" dimension, but is a very flat card (unless you ADD some fat stuff to it BIG GRIN).  AND I LOVE it because you can make two cards at one time!!

Other:  Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets (120805, page 174)

Instructions for the “Inlay” technique

1.  I cut a piece of Whisper White Card Stock 5 ¼” x 4” and a piece of the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets the same size.  I added that to the Whisper White Card Stock.   I cut ¼” strips of the Epic Day This and That DSP and covered the entire piece of whisper white with the strips (the adhesive sheet made it very easy!!)

2.  I cut a piece of the DSP (the pool party with words on it) 5 ¼” x 4”.  I layered the dsp and the whisper white piece and put the 3^rd from the largest circle framelit and the butterfly from the Backyard Basics Framelits and ran them through the big shot (used my Magnetic Platform to keep it in place!!!)

3.  I then “inlaid” the  many-colored circle on the plain piece of pool party and the pool party on the many-colored background and opposite with the butterfly!!  Cool, eh?  (I’m going to be trying this AGAIN!!  Love it!)

Holiday Catalog Carryover List for 2014 - UPDATE

Addendum - SU just updated the list and I have below - they are KEEPING the Ornament Keepsakes!!  YIPPEE!!

 

As most of you know, Stampin' Up no longer carries the Holiday items in the main catalog, but they DO carryover items from the Holiday Catalog and these items are available all year.  This year is no exception, so I want to share with you the items that will be carried over.  If there are items NOT on this list and not in the Spring Catalog, they will no longer be available at the end of the catalog.  The last day to order from the holiday catalog is January 2nd, so if there are items you NEED, be sure and get your order in before that date.

Quick and Easy Gift Card Holders

I just had to share this last minute gift card holder. These are SO easy and quick to make and will "fill the bill" for you and your giftee!

Have you guessed already how I made these?   Yep....correct....I used the Envelope Liners Framelits Dies (132172) found in the "soon to be gone" Holiday 2013 Catalog!~

I LOVE it when my "tools" can be used in so many different ways. Yes, you can line envelopes with these nifty framelits, but this is a great way to extend the use of your envelope liner framelits!

Just cut two of them (I used the middle size).  Adhere them together on both sides and bottom.  Fold down the top one (so you can see both sides of the beautiful designer series paper!!), add some ribbon and a tag and you are DONE!!  So simple and easy and a great way to add that last gift card!!

I used the Season of Style Designer Series Paper (132340, page 23 Holiday Catalog) and Tags 4 You stamp set (131820 W, 131823 C, page 37 Holiday Catalog) and some 1" Cherry Cobbler Stitched Edge Grosgrain Ribbon (132135, page 22 Holiday Catalog).  Oh, and I also used the Cherry Cobbler  3/4" Chevron Ribbon (130012, page 173)
