Give Thanks Card - Featuring a Customer

Have you ever seen a card and you just HAD to share it?  One of my customers, Nikkie W, shared this beautiful Thanksgiving card and I just have to share it with you.  It's using the oldie, but goodie, stamp set Lovely as a Tree!!  Thanks Nikkie for sharing your beautiful work with us!

I just LOVE how Nikkie colored this tree.  Looks just like some we see in the fall out west!!  Nikkie used the Spritzer Tool to add color to the tree

She also used the Woodgrain Embossing Folder (127821) for a lovely background and some brads which go perfectly

Holiday Cards Blitz

I am going to be sharing LOTS of Holiday Cards in the next few days.  I have been so busy with my Christmas Stamp-A-Stacks that I haven't had time to share what all I've been doing lately and I apologize.  But you are going to inundated for the next few days LOL - that won't be a problem, eh?  Hope you can find some inspiration from what I'm sharing.

Last month I shared a beautiful card at our club meeting.  I found this idea on Stampin' Connection (our demo-only web site sharing gallery).   I just HAD to try this cool technique and LOVE how it turned out!  It's called "stained glass" and it SO easy and fun!

Isn't that just stunning?  I surely don't take credit, but LOVE this effect.  To do the "stained glass" technique, you stamp your image on Vellum Card Stock with VersaMark and then emboss with silver embossing powder.  I did two of the flowers.  Then turned it over and  colored with the Stampin' Write Markers.  Let it dry just a little (a couple of minutes or so) - DONE!!  I used Coastal Cabana and "painted" it twice to give it a deeper color - that was for the bottom flower.  

I then "painted" the top flower with Soft Sky.  Then "fussy cut" out the center.  I layered them with dimensionals.

Here's another Christmas Star sample - I stamped it directly on the card stock.  Quick and easy!!

Easel Ornament

I showed this "card" or ornament at the last club meeting and then totally forgot to make up a tutorial on it.  I apologize, but I'm doing it NOW!!

 

This is a cool way to show off these beautiful ornaments!  Can be used as a card, or....what about name tags for your Christmas dinner?  It actually folds up and can be mailed (although a bit thick)

However you use it, it's beautiful!

Cut a piece of Coastal Cabana card stock 4 1/2" x 9".  Score at the 4 1/2" mark and fold

Place this piece on your magnetic platform on top of an acrylic plate.  Add the largest Festive Flurries Snowflake Framelit.  Line it up as pictured

  

Add another acrylic plate and run it through the Big Shot

Score at the half-way point on one side

Fold that side back

This is the base of your easel

Stamp and cut out 4 snowflakes.

I used the Silver Glimmer Paper on the largest

For the 2nd and 4th snowflakes, I stamped in VersaMark and then white embossed the snowflakes

The 3rd snowflake I stamped in VersaMark and then embossed in silver

I scored the 2nd and 3rd snowflakes and slightly creased them

Then I added each layer with a dimensional

Last I added the Frosted Finishes Embellishment

Now line up the top of the largest snowflake with the easel base.

I added glue dots to the outside "arms" and a piece of Sticky Tape to the base.

Just half of your large snow flake will be attached to the base

 

I then stamped Warm Wishes from Snow Day Stamp Set in Coastal Cabana on Whisper White and cut it out with the Itty Bitty Banners Framelits

Then added the Silver Glimmer behind.  This acts as your easel "stop" so it will sit up.  Just run the bottom "arm" of the snowflake under the sentiment - sits up perfectly!!

Christmas Star - a Single Stamp available through January 31. 2014

This is really a stunning stamp and I first stamp it and then cut it out (called "fussy cutting").  I then used my Scoring Tool and scored each line through the points of the star.  Gives it a lovely "3D" look

Chiclets Treat Holder

I truly meant to share this Chiclet Treat Holder before Halloween and actually thought I had! Even told some of my customers it was on my blog!!  Went to look for it and it's no where to be found.  Uh Oh!!  Sometimes I wonder about my mind......LOL

I took pictures to make up a tutorial, so now I'm sharing it!!  And I made up one for the Christmas Holiday so you can STILL use it!!  I found this idea on Dawn O's blog and just LOVED it.  

Isn't that just the cutest thing you have ever seen.  And...inside is a box of chiclets.  You can use kind of boxed candy.....and yes, I did find the chiclets at Big Lots - also I have heard the Dollar Stores might have them!!

 

Here are the supplies I used for the Santa one

Stamp Set:  Tags 4 You (131820 W, 131823 C, page 37 Holiday Catalog)

Card Stock:  Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer Paper (124005, page 156); Seasons of Style Designer Series Paper (132340, page 23 Holiday Catalog)

Ink:  Basic Black

Punch:  Label Bracket (132153, page 37 Holiday Catalog), Word Window (119857, page 180)

Embellishments:  Candy Dots Brad Bases (132293, page 171)  Candy Dots Brights (130931, page 171)

Here's a quick little tutorial using the Halloween ones, but you can just change out the colors!!  

 

Chiclets Treat Holder 

1.  Cut card base 3” x 11”.  Score at 3 ¼” and 7 ½”

 2.   Cut a piece of Designer Series paper 3 ¼” x 2 ¾”.  Adhere this piece to the end that measures 3 ½” from the score line

 

 3.   At the opposite end, using your Word Window Punch, line up the punch at the edge and punch.  Then line up the punch on the other side and punch again – this will lengthen the hole!

 

 

 4.   Add Sticky Strip tape under the punch out (on the opposite side that the designer series paper is on)

 5.   Fold up on the score line and insert your chiclets package into the opening.  Then adhere the sticky tape

 6.   Cut a piece of card stock 11” x 1”.  Score at 5 ½”.  Wrap around your treat package and add a brad.  Cut a ribbon end.

 

 I used our Candy Dots Brads  (123392) and then added the candy dot 

7.   Add a sentiment on the front making sure to adhere just to the band, so it will slip on and off

 Just simple and quick - you can make a bunch of them in no time at all!
