I recently had a birthday and my DS (Darling Son), gave me this really cool gift!! It's a Wood Block Stamp - I had never seen one or even heard of them before, but he said the antique dealer told him this was about 110 years old. How cool is THAT!!
The block is hand-carved wood and the "stamp" is metal!!
So of course, I had to try it. But......let me tell you our stamps are MUCH easier. Actually I think these were made for stamping on fabrics and other mediums, but I had to try it anyway!!
So after much grunting and groaning and PUSHING hard, I made up some cards - simple, but very fun!!

Pretty nifty, eh? and if you will notice, they are quite similar to some of our current stamps!! Interesting!! And thoughtful of my son to purchase it for me. I'm trying to do some research on it and haven't been too successful to find exactly something like this, but I'll keep looking - just because it's interesting!!
