I LOVE LOVE this time of year - so many fun things to make and share. I found this Mr. Scarecrow on my Stampin' Connection link and just had to share him!! He is made with the Envelope Liners Framelits Dies - again another use for a tool! The Envelope Liners Framelits are just SO handy for dressing up the Stampin' Up Envelopes - quick and easy, but love it when they can used for something else. Come back tomorrow and see Mr. and Mrs. Frosty.
Isn't he just DARLING???
And this is an actual card - to make the card base, take a piece of card stock cut 5 1/2" x 11" - score at the 5 1/2" mark
Using the middle size Envelope Liners Framelit, place your card stock with the scored side on the left just "INSIDE" the framelit
See where I have placed the framelit just to the left of the fold?
Run through the Big Shot (of course using the Magnetic Platform) and you have your card base
Cool, eh?
Supplies:
Polka-Dot PIeces (129705 W, 129708 C , page 85)
Card Stock: Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Tangerine Tango, Basic Black, Baked Brown Sugar, Early Espresso, Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper (132184, page 18 Holiday Catalog)
Ink: Early Espresso, Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango
Punches: 1 3/4" Scallop Circle (119854, page 182); 1" circle (119868, page 182); 3/4" Circle (119873, page 182) Petite Pennants Builder (122361, page 181), Bird Builder (117191, page 183)
Big Shot: Envelope Liners Framelits (132172 page 37 Holiday Catalog)/ Square Lattice Embossing Folder (119976, page 191)
First run Crushed Curry through the Big Shot to make the card base. Then run a piece of 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" Crumb Cake for the "face". Again run the Sweater Weather piece through the Envelope Framelits for the "hat".
Run the Crumb Cake face through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice Embossing folder and attach to the front of the Crushed Curry Card Base. Attach the Sweater Weather Hat. Attach a piece of Sweater Weather for the hat brim. Sponge around the edges of all pieces with Early Espresso.
Stamp and punch the sunflower - cut into the center of the scallop circle to make the petals. Cut one leaf in Crushed Curry from the Bird Builder Punch and attach to the side of the sunflower. Stamp the bird and punch out with the bird builder punch and attach to the flower with dimensionals
Cut small strip of Baked Brown sugar (about 3/8" wide) and snip pieces 1". Accordian fold each piece and slip under hat brim.
Punch two 1" circles in Very Vanilla (eyes) and 2 1" circles in Crushed Curry (cheeks). Punch two 3/4" circle in Early Espresso for the irises.
Attach eyes and cheeks. Draw mouth from each cheeck
Punch triangle with Sweater Weather and the Petite Pennant Punch and attach as nose.
Here's a little punch picture
Hope you have fun with this little Scarecrow and check back tomorrow for Mr. and Mrs. Frosty!
