Love the popular Chalkboard Technique, so had to include this in my most recent Stamp-A-Stack! I found this idea on the Stampin' Connection website (for demonstrators) and kudos go to Becky Roberts for sharing the measurements.
Stamp Set: From My Heart (132007 W, 126557 C, page 99); Woodgrain Background (128763 W 127808 C page 75)
Card Stock: Basic Black, Soft Suede
Ink: White Craft (101731, page 165); White Embossing Powder (109132, page 167)
This technique is so effective and SO simple.
To make the "chalkboard", you cut a piece of card stock 4 1/2" x 11". Then score at the 5 1/2" mark.
Lay this onto your Stampin' Trimmer with the bottom side at the top (hee hee) and cut from on the 1/2" mark down just to the 1 1/2" mark. Turn it over and do the same on the other side. Then cut between those two marks - that makes the "legs" of your chalkboard.
Next stamp a piece of 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" Soft Suede with the Woodgrain Background stamp in Soft Soft ink. Cut two 5 1/2" x 1/2" pieces vertically and then turn and cut two horizontal pieces 3 1/2" x 1/2" - these will make your frame. Attach these.
Stamp on the black with White Craft ink and heat emboss the white embossing powder. I added some lines with a white pencil.
Then spong a little white craft ink around to give it the "chalkboard" look.
