Father's Day Dapper Dad Interlocking Framelits

I found this idea for the interlocking framelits and just had to try it.  Looks complicated, but really very simple

This is a gatefold card - I will list the supplies and then give you the measurements

Stamp Set:  Dapper Dad (129195 W, 129198 C, page 14 Spring Catalog); Best Dad Ever (soon to retire 120399 W, 120681 C, page 27)

Card Stock:  Soft Suede, Cajun Craze, Night of Navy, Very Vanilla

Ink:  Cajun Craze

Big Shot:  Argyle Embossing Folder (127750, page 189); Oval Framelits (129381, page 4 Spring Catalog)

The card base measures 11" x 5 1/2".  Score at 2 3/4" and 8 1/4".  Fold to center.  Stamp the shoe and Happy Father's Day and cut out with the 4th to the largest Oval Framelit.  Cut the Soft Suede with the 3rd to the largest Oval Framelit.   To make the Night of Navy interlocking frame, cut out with the 3rd to the largest frame and then line up and cut out with the 2nd to the largest frame.  Now they "interlock" perfectly!

Father's Day Ideas

At our club meeting this week I wanted to focus on Father's Day since that is the next "holiday".  I made up some samples and this is the card we did in class

Sneak Peak with Watercolors

I saw this fantastic idea on Stampin' Connection - shared by RaeDeen Bittner.  As you can see I'm loving the new Stamp Set and coordinating Embossing Folder Wildflower Meadow - it's so gorgeous with so many possibilities. 

This time I used my Stampin' Write Markers and colors the stamp - it took quite a while, but love how it stamped.  Here's the card I made first. It's bright and vibrant with color

Then, as recommended by RaeDeen, I spritzed the stamp and stamped again - it gave it the watercolor look - just LOVE this idea.....

So soft.....

Another Sneak Peak - NEW In-Colors

Most of you know that every year we get new "In-Colors" to coordinate with our regular line of colors.  This year they are beautiful and I made some cards using the same set I used yesterday.  The Wildflower Meadow Stamp Set and Embossing Folder.  I made five cards using all the new In-Colors.....

They are

Don't they all sound just delicious.  All yummy foods - you can just imagine the colors from the names!  Love it!

COASTAL CABANA

Do you see something else new and different on this card?  YES - we now have a fun new product called Buttons and Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Molds.  The clay comes in white and you can add any color of reinker to it and match your project colors.

You will want to get some right away - TIP:  I found the best way to make your creations come out perfect, is to fold the clay into the mold and stick it in the freezer for about 15 minutes.  They pop right out of the molds - let them sit for a few hours before adding them to your project - that way you don't "smoosh" them (I speak from experience) while applying whatever adhesive you want to use - sticky strip, mini glue dots

They come in flowers and buttons - cute, cute

I used the white clay on this and added some dark centers with an Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker

NEW PRODUCT SNEAK PEAK

I am just SO anxious for you all to see the new catalog and some of the great new products.  As a demonstrator, we get to purchase a few products early and even though we can't show actual pictures of the products, we can show you projects we have made with them.  YIPPEE

One of the new products we received while in Fiji was the Wildflower Meadow Stamp Set and coordinating Wildflower Meadow Embossing Folder. 

OH DEAR - I had such fun with these two products

First you stamp and then you line it up (and it's VERY easy) in the embossing folder and emboss.  It's it's just gorgeous!

I saw this idea on Stampin' Connection (a demo-only website sharing ideas).  I used the Illuminate Glimmer Stamp Pad and stamped on Whisper White - then embossed with the Wildflower Meadow Embossing folder - it turned out beautifully.  I embossed the "Mr. and Mrs." (yes another new stamp set called Label Love) and punched it out with the new Artisan Label Punch!

It's touch to get a full effect of this card, but it's very beautiful and I want to thank Pat Mayer for this great idea!

Stampin' Up Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set and Delicate Details Lace Tape

The Delicate Details Lace Tape which was introduced in the Spring Catalog is just beautiful and adds such "delicate details" to any creation.  And I LOVE the look of "two-step" stamping using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.   Here's a card we made in a couple recent classes.  This time I used the delicate details lace as a "mask" and sponged over it.  Love the way it turned out

Stamp Sets:  Stippled Blossoms (126745 W, 126747 C, page 78), Creat a Cupcake (122510 W, 122512 C page 49)

Card Stock:  Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White

Ink:  Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Old Olive

Embellishments:  Delicate Details Lace Tape (130966, page 3 Spring Catalog); Basic Pearls (119247, page 175)

I added the Delicate Details Lace Tape on the left side of the Whisper White piece cut 5" x 3 3/4".  I sponged some Baja Breeze ink over the tape - and then gently pulled the tape off.  I then stamped using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.  One thing to remember - always start with your solid stamp and LIGHT ink.  I do have a video here showing how to using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.  Yes, I know - you have one, but have never used it.  Trust me; I had one for over two years and never touched it.  Then I decided a piece of plastic  was NOT going to intimidate me.  So check out the video and get out your SAMJ and try it out!!  You'll see - it's not hard or intimidating {BIG GRIN}

Just a few more days......

let me tell you.....it's just full of wonderful new stuff.  I had a bunch of catalogs sent by mail from Stampin' Up - let me know if you haven't received yours yet (for out of state customers).  Otherwise I have them here and will make sure you get a new one

I wanted to use some retiring products and this is a card I made for a Stamp-A-Stack I had recently

This card uses the Emboss Resist technique - I'll give you the supplies and then a little tutorial.

Stamp Set:  Summer Solstice (122024 W, 122037 C page 93); Love and Laughter (125475 W, 125477 C Page 38)

Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Soft Suede

Ink:  Soft Suede, VersaMark, White Embossing Powder (109132, page 159)

Embellishments:  1/" Very Vanilla Seam Binding (120999, page 172); Basic Pearls (119247, page 175)

Punches:  Large Oval (119855, page 184); Scallop Oval (119856, page 184)

To do the emboss resist, I stamped with VersaMark all over the front of a Very Vanilla piece (5" x 3 3/4")  I heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Then I used a sponge dauber (102892, page 179) and sponged Soft Suede ink over each stamped and embossed figure.  I added a bit of ink around the outline the stamped images.

Then I added this piece to a Soft Suede piece cut 5 1/4" x 4" - tied the seam binding around and added this to the Very Vanilla Card Base.  I then stamped "Congratulations" with versaMark on a piece of Soft Suede card stock - heat embossed some white embossing powder and punched it out with the large oval punch.  Then added that to a Very Vanilla Scallop Oval - added the pearls and that is it!!  LOVE EMBOSSING

Seriously I have not disappeared

As some of you know, I earned the FIJI incentive trip through Stampin' Up.  Our son talked us into visiting Australia again (after 19 years) for three weeks before Fiji.  So.....that is where I was during most of April and some of May. 

It was a fantastic trip - we visited friends we had made 19 years ago and their families - saw SO many beautiful sites and enjoyed our time there tremendously.  Then we ended up in Fiji for five wonderful days.  Yep, it's literally a paradise - it was nice to relax and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We visited the South Sea Island one day - took a cruise ship out to it - 15 minutes to walk around the island - it was wonderful

 

This is really what it looked like!  Amazing

Anyway, we were pretty jetlagged when we arrived home - in transit about 40 hours.  So, I've been negligent and trying to get caught up on everything and get some needed rest!

I wanted to share some of the fun stuff that Stampin' Up has been advertising and I haven't paid much attention to. 

First they are offering kits that are SO fun, easy, and  reasonably priced.  One of these is the "Submit a project" Kit.  Anyone can submit and project and Stampin' Up has everyone vote on their favorite on Facebook and the winner is chosen for a "kit" 

This one is called "Dolled Up"

Now remember I have to have almost everything, and I have all of these products, but I fell for the "kit" and tonight I made it up - literally in about 20 minutes. 

You receive everything to make six cards including card stock, stamp, ink (Stampin' Spot), 5/8" Flower Trim, cut-out dress form already stamped, paper daisies, sponge dauber and envelopes!  And all this for just $15.95.  Is that cool or what?

These would make excellent gifts - as a kit or made up!  I had such fun making them.  I didn't have to design anything, just assemble them!

And the other thing I hadn't really done much about was Paper Pumpkin.  You ask what THAT is?  Well, you know Cinderella's pumpking turned into a carriage and that is kind of what Paper Pumpkin is.  It's a subscription and it comes to your door around teh middle of each month.  It comes in a box and has everything included to make a project.  It can be cards, home decor, journals, etc. etc. And we never know what is coming - that's the fun!

There is a trial kit that sells for $16.95 - that includes shipping. You will receive two little journals which you can decorate and use for just about anything.  Takes about 10 minutes to decorate them!!

Again these would make excellent gifts, or use them yourself to jot your notes!!

You receive stamps, an acrylic block (with your first month), ink and embellishments,  Envelopes are also included.  These take just a few minutes to assemble and it's just $14.95 a month.
