Day #4 of More Swaps to share from Stampin' Up Convention 2012

I used this stamp set to make my own swaps and loved the ones I received. It has SO many possibilities.  It's Postage Due (126395 W 126397 C page 108)

One of my favorite color combinations is black and pink.  I did tons of pages in my scrapbook when we were in Paris with this theme - so this card really caught my eye!!  Don't you just LOVE it.

Talk about Clean and Simple - but OH so impressive

I hope you can see this - these butterflies were embossed into the paper - I just LOVE this technique and will be trying it soon and I'll share when I figure it out!!

This "highlighting" card is just beautiful.  Have you ever done this technique?  Really nice>  You stamp the image and then stamp it again and cut out the part you want highlighted.  Stunning!

Here are a few more great swaps - I'm so impressed with all the great work these ladies put into their "samples"  If nothing else there are so many great layouts - I hope you will try some of these. 

One of the most popular things right now are pinwheels - isn't this just the cutest?  I can just imagine blowing on a pinwheel and watching it go round and round!!  Wouldn't this be a GREAT kids card?

This card is wonderful in that it has SO much "texture to it!!  Love the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and the ribbon - I actually took a picture close so you could see it.  Linda Bennet shared this swap and she used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and added some seam binding and did some cross stitch with twine - how very, ver clever!!

Here's a close-up of the cross stitch!!  LOVE IT!

And this card is just beautiful in it's simplicity.  LOVE the "banner" on the bottom done in White craft ink and embossed!!  Beautiful contrast

This card is SO pretty - Baja Breeze and Black and White - really stunning

A few more swaps from the Stampin' Up Convention

Yes, I do have some more swaps to share with you.  There were SO many ideas shared and I just hate to see such beautiful work go unnoticed - maybe YOU can get some inspiration from these ideas!!

This card was shared by Diane Evans.  I love the way the oval frame "frames" the butterfly cut with the Elegant Butterfly punch!! SO pretty.  An easy card to replicate in any colors!!  Love it!

These colors are really stunning!!  Gumball Green and Basic Black together.  Really  nice easy card and the Chevon Embossing Folder is what really sets it off

What a COOL card this one is.  Using Bordering on Romance Stamp Set and some embossing - really neat.  Great way to make a quick card and one that will go through the mail without the extra postage.  And yet WOW

The new Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper is just beautiful - and here's it's used to cut out the butterfly - a little seam binding to tie this butterfly to a Baja Breeze butterfly and some simple stamping the background - really effective

Scrap Ribbon Presentation Share #2 Stampin' Up Convention Samples and Ideas

How very simple, yet a real WOW card.  It's hard to tell, but I used the brand new Stampin' Dazzle Marker in Silver offered in the Holiday Catalog!!  Really adds a neat touch IRL!!

Card Stock: Whisper White and Raspberry Ripple

Ink:  Raspberry Ripple, Stampin' Dazzle Marker Silver (128978, page 19 Holiday Catalog)

Embellishment:  Raspberry Ripple 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon (126845, page 172)

Punch:  Ornament (119847, page 184)

Scrap Ribbon Presentation Share from Stampin' Up Convention 2012

Dawn Griffith gave a presentation on ribbon "treatments" at the Stampin' Up Convention 2012.  We oooohed and awwwwed over her presentation and I just LOVED these Scrap Ribbon cards she shared.

I made them up and also am sharing a quick tutorial on how to make them.  Hope you enjoy and find it useful in using up all those pieces of ribbon in your stash!!

First of all here's the card she made (check below for more.....)

Just beautiful!!

Stamp Set:  Perfectly Penned (122890 W 122892 C, page 132)

Card Stock:  Whisper White, Midnight Muse

Ink:  Midnight Muse

Embellishment:  Midnight Muse 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon (126847, page 172)

Punch: Blossom (125603, page 185)

 

Step 1.  Start with card stock.  Whisper White cut 4 1/2" x 11", scored and folded in half for your card base.  Whisper White 4" x 1 1/2". Midnight Muse 4" x 4"

Step 2.  Punch out the a flower with your Blossom punch in the 4" x 4" piece of Midnight Muse

Step 3.  Line up the Midnight Muse on the front of the card and outline the blossom cutout with a pencil

 

Step 4.  Cover your pencil outline with adhesive

Step 5.  Add your ribbon scraps over your drawn image

Step 6.  Trim the edges of the ribbon so they won't show

Step 7.  Add dimensionals to the corners of your Midnight Muse card stock

Step 8.  Stamp sentiment on the 4" x 1 1/2" piece and add dimensionals to the TOP of this piece

 

Step 9.  Add snail to the top of the Midnight Muse card stock and adhere the sentiment

 

Step 10.  Add a piece of 12" Midnight Muse Ribbon

Step 11.  Add to front of card base

Step 12.  Outline the Blossom punch with the White Gel Pen.  Add some "stitching" around the edges.

 

And you are DONE!!

 Dawn used all five "in-colors" for 2012-2013 - so I made up five cards also to show you how beautiful they are!!

Isn't this a great way to use up scraps - plus a great way to show off the new colors AND just a simple, easy card.

Triple Time Stamping #2 Sample

Card Stock:  Island Indigo, Whisper White

Ink: Island Indigo

Punches:  Scallop Oval (119856, page 184), Large Oval (119855, page 184)

Triple Time Stamping - #1 Sample - Have you tried it??

I saw this card on a fellow demonstrator's site and just loved the effect.  It's called "Triple Time Stamping" and it's not something new, but is definitely fun and I LOVE the effect.

 First I'll give you the supplies, then I walk you through with the measurements and a little tutorial!

Stamp Set:  Creative Elements (122645 W, 122647 C, page 126)

Card Stock:  Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White

Ink:  Rich Razzleberry

Embellishments:  5/8" Crochet Trim (118481, page 173), Antique Brads (117273, page 174)

 

1. Cut your Whisper White as follows:

2" x 3 1/4"

3" x 4 1/4"

4" x 5 1/4"

Then cut your Rich Razzleberry as follows:

2 1/4" x 3 1/2"

3 1/4" x 4 1/2"

8 1/2X x 5 1/2"  (this is your card base which you will score and fold in half

2.  Mount your three pieces of Whisper White on top of each other with removable adhesive (or just a little tiny bit of snail)

3.  Stamp you sentiment on the smallest piece first

4.  Now starting in the center, stamp the flourishes from the Creative Elements set all around the card.

5.  Next stamp your brighter flower image being sure to stamp over all layers of the card.  There will be little "white" blank spots, but these will be covered up once the card is assembled.

6.  Now mount your smallest Whisper White piece on the smallest Rich Razzleberry piece.  Then the middle piece on the middle piece of Rich Razzleberry. 

7.  Add your embellishments to these two pieces and then mount on the last piece of Whisper White, then onto your card base

TIP:  Be sure your images are all up, so that your flowers match when you mount them.

Now is that neat or what???
