Bazaar Items!

No these are not "bazaar" in ODD, but they are for a Christmas Bazaar.  My friend, Julie, has already started planning for Christmas.  I wish I was as organized.  She made and shared with us, these fantastic Post-It note holders.  What a neat and creative idea.  I'm sure they will fly off the table at her bazaar!!

Are these cute or what?  She used a 3" x 5" picture frame found at your local dollar store.  Added some card stock and designer series paper, a little embellishment and the post-it note.  Fast, easy and SO creative.  Thanks, Julie, for sharing (hint:  guess what I made for my special friends at convention???)

Club Hostess Gifts for June

One of my very favorite projects is to make up card sets.  And I love giving them to my hostesses.  Here is a set I made for my June Hostesses.

This folder is SO simple and easy to make - just one piece of 8 1/2" x 11" card stock!!

Above is the inside with the cards.  I used the new Blooming with Kindness stamp set, stamped the flower on Whisper White with three different colors:   Pool Party. So Saffron and Calypso Coral.  I used coordinating card stock and stamped the flower in White Craft Ink and then heat set it for a background.  I cut out the flower with the Labels Framelits - also cut out a "frame" in the Silver Glimmer Paper.  I added a Whisper White Taffeta ribbon under the flower and tied a bow below the flower. I didn't put a sentiment on the cards, thinking the hostesses could use them for any occasions:  Birthday, Wedding, Anniversary, Sympathy!

To make the folder, you use a piece of 8 1/2" x 11" card stock - I used Calypso Coral. 

Line up the 11" side on your Simply Scoring Tool and score at 5 1/4" and 5 3/4".  Turn the card stock and line up the 8 1/2" side and score at 2".  Fold all score lines and then cut out the 2" center piece

Add sticky tape to the 2" pieces on both sides and fold up.  Add some designer paper to the fronts of the 2" pieces.  Poke holes in the inside and outside pieces and run a piece of ribbon through.

Add design paper to the front over the ribbon.  Add your cards and envelopes and you have a great gift!!

June Club Project, Reverse Masking

I enjoyed the Reverse Masking technique SO much, that I had to try it again!!  Just love the way this card turned out.  I found the idea online and went with it!  Serene Silhouettes is going to be one of those "go to" stamp sets.  It's SO peaceful and just simply beautiful!!

Isn't this just the simpliest, but most effective card.  I figure if I made LOTS of sympathy cards ahead, I won't need them.  Don't you find that when you don't have the perfect card, then you will sure need one. 

Stamp Set:  Serene Silhouettes (WM 127322, CM 127324, page 75), Teeny Tiny Wishes (WM 115370, 
CM 127802, page 133)

Card Stock:  Crumb Cake, Midnight Muse, Very Vanilla

Ink:  Crumb Cake, Midnight Muse

Embellishment:  Midnight Muse 3/8” Stitched Satin Ribbon (126847, page 172)

Big Shot:  Apothecary Accents Framelits (127003, page 191)

Tools:  Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack (126187, page 181)

Instructions:

Cut out large framelit on piece of card stock. Using the “negative” piece, attach to the Very Vanilla card stock (5 ¼” x 4”) with removable adhesive and sponge with crumb cake ink

Remove piece and stamp flowers from Serene Silhouettes in Midnight Muse.

Attach piece to 5 3/8” x 4 1/8” piece.

Tie knot in 6” piece of Midnight Muse ribbon and attach around both pieces of card stock.  Adhere these to Crumb Cake card base

Stamp “With Sympathy” or desired sentiment to front of card

June Club Demonstration #2 Blooming with Kindness Emboss Resist

I saw a card like done on Stampin' Connection by Mary Brown and I just had to try it.  It's definitely one of those WOW cards.  Thanks, Mary, for your inspiration!!

Isn't it just stunning?  This is a wonderful wow card and can be sent without extra postage through the mail.  I don't mind paying the extra 20c, but it's usually because I have added so many embellishments; but this card doesn't need anything more....

Supplies: Stamp Sets: Blooming with Kindness (WM 126420, CM 126422, page 87), Betsy’s Blossoms (WM 126004, CM 126006, page 72)

Card Stock: Whisper White

Ink: Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green, Pink Pirouette, White Embossing Powder
(109132, page 159), VersaMark Ink

Punch: 3/16” Corner  (119871, page 183)

To do the emboss resist, I stamped the big flower in VersaMark ink - then heat set with white embossing powder.  Then I used a sponge dauber and sponged the center of the flower with Raspberry Ripple (brand new In-Color) and the outside of the flower with Pink Pirouette!  Nice!  Then just used a kleenex and wiped off the excess ink from the embossing area.  The vine is stamped in Gumball Green - another new In-Color and the bird stamped in the Raspberry Ripple.  Love the font for the sentiment.  Quick and easy, but elegant card, dont' you think? 

Have you wondered about the new Firm Foam ink pads?  I can honestly say I LOVE them.  And I'm not one to like change.  They stamp much easier - the ink is "wet" - just be  careful not to smudge.  Have you ever noticed Stampin' Up's Whisper White and Very Vanilla have  a little "shiny" finish?  One tip to remember when stamping with the new ink pads:  hold your stamp down for a count of five....that will let the ink settle into the card stock.  Not so necessary with the colors, but helps with the neutrals. 

And, interestingly enough because the ink stays wet longer, you can actually emboss with our new classic ink pads.  It will dry fast, but if you have everything ready (embossing powder and your heat tool), it works GREAT!!

June Club Projects

I haven't had a chance to share my June club projects - know why?  I've been busy like a BEE getting ready for the Stampin' Up Convention WHICH IS NEXT WEEK!!  Yikes.  It has come SO fast.  What is the Stampin' UP Convention all about.  New Ideas, New Friends, Old Friends, Swaps, Make 'n Takes, and SO much more.  We have four intense days of classes, general sessions, MEMENTO MALL (AWWW the shopping).  I'm SO looking forward to it.  Nothing like other excited demonstrators to wind you up ready for another year of great creativity!!

So.....I've been doing swaps - yes I will share them during the next week.  We will be having a "Shoe Box Swap" (where we actually MAKE projects), an "organized" swap with my friend's upline, and, of course, just general swapping.  We stand around in the halls at the convention center and swaps cards (mostly card fronts)  What fun and SO many wonderful ideas, which I will be sharing with you after I get home!!

But onto my club projects.......I demonstrated this really cute little treat holder.  Takes about five minutes to make, so if you are looking for a quick easy project you can make tons of these in just a short time.

Island Indigo

Embellishment:  ¼” Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon Daffodil Delight
(126872. Page 173)

Punches: 
Scallop Oval (119856, page 184), Extra-Large Oval (119859, page 184),
Little Labels Punch Pack (126881, page 183), Elegant Butterfly (127526, page
184)

Big Shot: 
Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die (127005, page 192), Fancy Fan Embossing
Folder (127751, page 189)

 

Instructions:

Using Island Indigo card stock, but out the Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die AND the World Spectacular DSP that is cut 6” x 2”.   Line up the DSP so it is in the center of the oval die.

Using the Little Labels Punch Pack small decorative label punch, punch out both above for the handle.

Run the Island Indigo Oval Accent piece through the Big Shot with the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder

Attach the DSP to the Island Indigo piece and tie them together with the Daffodil Delight ¼” Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon

Stamp the circle with the flourishes from the Papaya Collage stamp set on Whisper White
and the sentiment in the center.  Punch out with the Scallop Oval Punch.  Punch out a Extra-Large Oval in Daffodil Delight and adhere to the back of the sentiment and then to the front of the treat “box”

Stamp the butterfly from the Papaya Collage stamp set and punch out with the Elegant
Butterfly punch.  Adhere to the front side

Use some Sticky Tape if you would like to add a treat!

Daisy Box Tutorial

My downline, Cindi, asked for measurements for the boxes between the "framelits", so just had to make up one to remember again :)  I love the new Floral Frames Framelits which were released with the new catalog and haven't had a lot of time to play - so took time this afternoon.

Here's the Daisy box I made

Card Stock:  Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip, Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper (126902, page 164)

Big Shot:  Floral Frames Framelits (127012, page 191)

Embellishment:  Neutraks Designer Buttons (119743, page 176)

Using the largest of the Floral Frames Framelits, cut out two in daffodil delight

Sandwich for Framelits:  (bottom to top)

Multi-purpose Platform on Tab 2

Acrylic Pad

Card Stock with Framelit cutting side down

Acrylic Pad

Cut next size smaller with Chocolate Chip

Cut next size smaller with Daffodil Delight Polka Dot Parade DSP

Cut next smaller with Chocolate Chip

Cut smallest with Daffodil Delight Polka Dot Parade

Layer the above pieces together and add button to center

For Box:

Cut 6" x 5 1/2" Daffodil Delight Card Stock.  Laying the 6" side along the top of your scoring tool, score at 2 1/2" and 3 1/2".  Turn card stock and lay the 5 1/2" side along the top of your scoring tool and score at 1" and 4 1/2"

Snip the score lines up to the 1" score on both sides

Burnish all score lines and fold in sides to assemble your box.  Add stick strip to one side

Fold in sides and assemble the box

Add sticky strip to both sides of box and attach your flower

Fill with goodies!!  Isn't that just SO stinkin' cute?

Hostess Card Set Mini Tutorial

I'm a bit behind on sharing my projects from the last couple of months.  This card set was the Hostess Gifts for my customers in May.  I am so loving using the new designer series papers and stamp sets.  So many new and wonderful products from Stampin' Up in the new 2012-2013 Catalog.  If you don't have your catalog yet, and you are local, just give me a call and when I'm in town, I'll be happy to bring one by.  If you need a catalog shipped to you, I just ask that you pay the shipping - the catalog is FREE.  So many wonderful products an ideas!

 

Isn't this dsp just delicious?  I LOVE it and love using it.  This is called Comfort Cafe.  I made up three cards and dressed up our Clear Stamp Cases for a perfect holder for the cards.

Clear-Mount Stamp Cases (119105 page 7)

I wanted to give you the measurements for decorating the Clear-Mount Cases, and since I had give away all my ones above, I made up another set for my workshop hostess this past month.  So here's a little tutorial on making up the cases!

Use one Clear-Mount Stamp Case (sold in sets of 4 for $5.95 - Item # 119105, page 7)

Cut your Designer Series Paper 10 1/2" x 7".  Slip this into the outside plastic pocket of your clear-mount stamp case.  I stamped the "For You" from Layered Labels in Midnight Muse and adhered it to the front and then slipped this into the case.

This is the inside

Cut two pieces of Midnight Muse (or card stock of your choice) 5 1/2" x 2 1/2".  Score with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool at 1/2" and 1" on three sides - two short sides and one long side

Trim off the "squares" in each corner on the "bottom" side as shown in the pictures below

 

Cut the tab as below and add sticky tape to this and to all three sides.

Fold on the score lines and add sticky tape to all three sides.  Attach to the inside of your clear-mount case.

Add a piece of DSP to the front (4 1/4" x 1 3/4")

Make two of these and adhere to the inside of your Clear-Mount Case.

Add your cards and envelopes and you have a wonderful gift!!
