Cute Critters Class - Punch Art

Do you like Punch Art?  Do you know what Punch Art is?  {BIG GRIN}.  But punch is just that - art through punching.  I will be doing a darling Punch Art Class called Cute Critters. 

When:  Cute Critters Class - Saturday August 11th  10:00 a.m.

Where:  Crooked River Elementary School Library

What:  We will be making 24 Cute Critters that will be added to card fronts - you will go away with 24 darling cards - these can be cards for kids.  The inside will be either a greeting or a place to add a gift card, note or treats!!  Fun, eh?

Can't come, but would like a kit?  I will be happy to send you a kit.  Instructions will be sent by email; products will be sent by snail mail

Stampin' UP Convention Memento Mall 2012

Every year at convention they offer special products that only convention attendees can purchase.  From a sampling of MDS projects to show customers, to water bottles and anywhere in between, we get to shop, shop, shop!!  Sometimes means long lines to wait in to check out, but they made it extra fun this year, but calling out "FIRST TIMERS"  at convention.  I KNOW the checkout people were having more fun than anyone else!!

Here are a few pictures of Memento Mall and all the beautiful decorations - and people!  We get to shop everyday - limits the first day and then if there are some left, the limits are lifted!!  I had to send home a big box......hmmmmm

Here is a cool "Card Tree".  Yes, of course, I had to get one!!

Sharing Displays at Stampin' Up Convention 2012

I wanted to start out sharing from Convention by showing some of the product displays.  SO many wonderful ideas.  I didn't take pictures of everything, but did get some wonderful ideas.

FABRIC!!  Now is this clever or what?  The squares are made from our fabric - cut with the Scallop Square Duo Die and remember you can cut up to 8 layers - what a CUTE page and quick!!

Back from the Stampin' Up Convention

I'm back from the Stampin' Up Convention.  Still recovering from long days, short nights and overload, but what a great time we had!!

Some quick highlights:

The Stampin' Up Trimmer is awesome - got to see it in action - should be available very soon.  It has a 6 1/2" bed - the handle has a little "foot" so it's easier to cut even cuts.  It locks into place!  The number are "covered" with something or other so they won't wear away!!  It's 14" in length on the paper bed so you can have both the scoring blade and the cutting blade on at all times and either one won't get in the way.  Can't WAIT for it to be available.

Also saw the new Heat Tool - WOW - two heat settings.  Plus it's "ergonomic"!!  Imagine that!!

I have SO many swaps to share, but they aren't home yet.  Yes, I had to send some things home as they wouldn't all fit into my luggage!!  Uh oh!! 

Over the next few days, I'll be sharing swaps, new product displays and lots of other "stuff" from convention.

One of the fun times is walking across the stage - Stampin' Up honors their demonstrators in many different ways and Awards Night is a highlight.  SO many talented ladies.

The new Floral Framelits arrived at my door last week and I just had to try them.  You must see the Daisy Box I made here.  What a fun project.  So I took it a step further and made this darling card.

To make your card so it will open, you score and fold your card stock and when you run it through the Big Shot, you pull down the score line just below the cutting edge, so the top won't be cut. KWIM?  If not, email me and I'll explain (after convention!!)  You can see the top of the card is "flat".  It opens up - I forgot to take a picture of it open.  I'll run and do that now!!  Whew - I'm back - and here's how the card looks when opened up!

Stampin' Up Convention Swaps

One of the fun things to do at the Stampin' Up Convention is to swap!!!  And I mean SWAP until we drop (almost).  While waiting in line for various activities (Memento Mall for one where they have exclusive items for sale!!), we swap ideas.  Most of these are card fronts and it's SO fun to see other's ideas.  We come with a year's worth of ideas to share with our friends!!

This year I have over 100 swaps for general swapping.  Plus we will be doing an "organized" Shoebox Swap.   That is where we take items and we make cards.  What fun!!  We did this at Leadership and it was a fun and enjoyable evening!!  Nothing like sitting down and making cards to make a Stampin' UP Demonstrator happy!!

Then there are other "Organized" swaps where you just swap with a certain number of people.  And we are taking part in that too - with my roomies and their uplines!!

I wanted to share my swaps over the next few days along with their "recipes!  And when I get home, I'll be sharing what I swap for with YOU, so you, too, can have tons of ideas!!

This card is for the Shoebox swap.  I just LOVE, LOVE the new Natural Composition Speciality Designer Series Paper.  There are SO many possibilites with it.  It's glossy, raised patterns are printed on heavy-weight Natural paper.  This make them SO good for matching any project you are making.  I used my brayer and the new Midnight Muse In-Color and brayered over the card front.  I then wiped off the ink and you have a wonderful effect!!

It's hard to see the sponge/brayering on the Natural Composition Specialty DSP, so I did a comparison for you to see it!  This is the music notes sheet - LOVE this!!

The top piece is how it arrives on your door step {smile} and the bottom is brayered with Midnight Muse!  After I brayered, I rubbed it with a kleenex and the music notes just popped out!!

2012-2014 Stampin' Up In-Colors Compared

As most of you know, Stampin' Up adds five new In-Colors every new catalog to it's line.  They are available for two years - then they retire (TIP:  Don't sell these colors as SU has said they might bring some of them back in the permanent line!!)  This year the new colors are truly beautiful and very interesting.  I saw a comparison with the current line and loved it, so wanted to share it with you!

Cute Critters Punch Art Class - Save the date!!!

I fell in love with Jackie Topa's Cute Critters class and just KNEW my customers would love it too.  Then I had requests from a couple of dear friends wanting a punch art class. PERFECT!!
