Don't we just gifts that others really can use? This is one of them. Connie Stewart shared this wonderful destop note holder. It's SO cool and easy to make and can be personalized and made for either female or male. We made a "girly" one, of course, but I also made ones for the guys!! LOVE THEM!! It takes copy paper for the "scratch" paper. Just cut up sheets into quarters and they fit right in!! And you could even personalize your note paper using My Digital Studio.
And the amazing thing about this cool gift, is that it only takes one 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of card stock!! WOW!!
Did you know that you can download a trial version of My Digital Studio and use it for 30 days? How cool is that. Use it and see how you like it. Then you can just go in and purchase it and put in a "key" and it's yours forever! It's SO powerful and you can make cards, albums, calendars and so many more things. I was never into digital scrapbooking, but it's sure becoming the "thing" and I have used it a lot. I made a digital album for the Alaskan Cruise we enjoy in May. Click here to view my album.
But back to the Desktop Note Holder.....sorry......I get distracted easily :)
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Notably Ornate (SM 117098, CM 120561, page 128)
Card Stock: Baja Breeze, Twitterpated Designer Series Paper (125406, page 13 Occasions Mini), approximately 50 sheets of copy paper. Cut copy paper in 4ths.
Ink: Baja Breeze
Embellishment: ½” Seam Binding Very Vanilla (120999, page 195)
Punch: 1” Circle (119868, page 213), Wide Oval (119859, page 212)
Tools: Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122334, page 16 Occasions Mini)
Simply Scored Shim – USE THIS SHIM FOR BOTH PIECES OF THIS PROJECT
Cut two pieces of card stock 7 ½” x 6 ¼” and 8 ½” x 4”
Score the 7 ½” x 6 ¼” piece at 1” on all 4 sides BE SURE AND USE YOUR SHIM
Cut and miter all 4 tabs.
Using 1” punch, snip out one long side (for ease of retrieving note paper)
Assemble box
Score 8 ¼” x 4” piece of card stock 1 ½” on all 4 sides BE SURE AND USE YOUR SHIM
Cut tabs to the score lines on the SHORT ENDS
On one of the long sides, slip off half the tabs – both ends on the same side
Your piece should now look like this
Miter the two shorts tabs as in the first project
Add Sticky tape to both short tabs along the score lines
Now flip your lid over and add sticky tape again to the short tabs and to the long tabs as shown in this picture
Burnish all score lines. Fold up the short tab side and attach around the outside of the middle tabs
Remove the red tape from the outside ends and fold up the long tab side and adhere to the short tabs
This is what it will now look like – with the tabs sticking out beyond the back
The long tabs will be sticking over the back on purpose (you did nothing wrong!!) Take off the red tape and fold the extended piece around the back to give it a finished look!
Your finished top
Fit this piece over the box. It will fit rather tight – on purpose, so it will stay on
Add Twitterpated piece to top and tie ribbon around. Stamp “Take Note” and punch out with wide oval punch. Adhere over ribbon with dimensionals
A close up of the sentiment
And for those who are fans of their college football team......

Hi Meredith
I wasn't sure what A4 was, so googled it. Since it's in CM, I converted the size from inches. Inches = 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 which is 1/4 of a piece of copy paper. So your measurements would be 10.795 x 13.97 cm. I read that your A4 is a bit different than our 8 1/2 x 11 sized paper. So you probably just need to add just a bit of each measurement. CM confuses me SO much - sorry I can't help you out, but you might try it using my directions and some copy paper to get the right measurements!!
Sorry I can't help more

what size paper is meant to fit in this? its too big for stickie notes, and too small for 1/4 of an A4 paper. also, what measurements would it be to make one for a A4 paper?
