As a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, we receive a magazine every month filled with ideas. One idea shared recently was this double embossing. It's fun and really gives a different effect. I made quite a few samples and will share them oer the next few days
Here's the one we made in class - everyone had a choice of colors since we do sell different embossing colors! Fun!
Can you see I embossed with the Textured Impression Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder - then we used a brayer and GENTLY rubbed over the embossed image. Then embossing powder and heat set. Really cool, eh?
Stamp Set: Word Play (WM 122268, CM 122270, page 156)

Embellishments: Basic Black 1 1/4” Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (115615, page 195)
Punch: Decorative Label (120907, page 209)
Big Shot: Textured Impression Embossing Folder Vintage Wallpaper (120175, page 219)

- Run First Edition DSP cut 2 ½” x 4” through the Big Shot in the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.
- Gently run brayer over the embossed figured using a light hand. Pour embossing powder over and heart set.
- Cut basic black card stock 5 ¼” x 4” and run half of sheet through Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.
- Adhere First Edition piece to left half of basic black
- Add 6” of Basic Black 1 ¼” Grosgrain Ribbon to middle of piece. Adhere to coordinating card stock base (in this case Tempting Turquoise)
- Stamp sentiment in VersaMark on Basic Black Card Stock. Cover with Tempting Turquoise Embossing Powder. Heat Set
- Cut out with Decorative Label Punch – also cut coordinating card stock (Tempting Turquoise) and “frame” decorative Label Punch (to see my video on this technique click on this link or copy into your internet address bar http://www.jansstampingcreations.com/2011/01/video-tutorial-on-how-to-frame-your-decorative-label-punch.html)
- Add to front of card with dimensionals (scrunching up grosgrain ribbon a bit)
Here are some more cards made with different colors
Wild Wasabi
Tangerine Tango
Tempting Turquoise
Cherry Cobbler
There is also another way to do this which gives it an entirely different look and I will share that tomorrow!
