We are heading out again to the beach for the long Thanksgiving holiday. Always look forward to being with family. My grandchildren are here with me and we made these turkey table favors. We made sour cream containers and filled them with M&M's and then added the turkeys and name tags. Isn't he just the cutest little turkey?
I'll share how to make the sour cream container first.
Cut a piece of designer series paper (I used Spice Cake from the Holiday Mini) 5" x 4 1/2". Add Sticky Tape to one 5" side and then add a 1/2" piece of tape to the center of one 4 1/2" side and on the other side butt it up to the sticky tape on the long side (again 1 1/2"). See photo below
Now remove the red tape on the 5" piece and fold the paper over and adhere into a roll
Remove sticky tape from one end and squeeze the end together. Run that end through the crimper about 4 turns - back it out of the crimper
Fill your container with goodies
Remove the red tape on the open end and squeeze the container the opposite from the other end and again run through the crimper - backing out after about 4 turns
Your sour cream container is done - now add the turkey
Punches used: Owl Punch (cut off ears). Also punch two eyes (smaller size) in whisper white. Punch three 1 3/4" Scallop Circles in Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and More Mustard. Cut off 4 scallops on each of the three "feathers", and line them up and adhere them together. Cut one small 4 leaf clover from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack in Real Red. Add eyes and lolly to the turkey. Cut a 1/2" square piece of Daffodil Delight - fold into a triangle and adhere over the red to form the beak. Color in black iris'.
Adhere turkey to the front of the sour cream container with Mini Glue Dots. I then printed out everyone's name and punched them with the Decorative Label punch - framed the name tags with Chocolate Chip (see my video here on how to frame the decorative label punch. I added some hemp twine and we were done! We made 17 of them!
Here they are!! Along with my helpers!!
