These Medallions/Ornaments were so fun and easy to make with the Simply Scored Tool!! Love them!
I used the Spice Cake Designer Series Paper (124003, page 17 Holiday Mini). The Medallion is 5" wide, so I cut two pieces of the DSP 2 3/4". You need to cut your two strips 1/2 the width of the size you need. I added a 1/4" because I folded over the outside to give it the beautiful "framed" look. This idea came from another blog and I can't seem to find it again!! Thanks to the originator for the idea!
After scoring 1/4" on both pieces I lined them up and attached them together with sticky tape. This make the circle which I then scrunched down into the medallion. I punched out a circle with the 2 1/2" circle punch (120906, page 212) and covered it with Sticky Strip and applied it to the back of the medallion.
I then punched out a 2 3/8" scallop circle (2 3/8" scallop circle punch (118874, page 210) in the Spice Cake DSP and a 1 3/4" Scallop Circle ( 1 3/4" scallop circle punch , page 210) in Early Espresso. I added a Pool Party Designer Button Spice Cake to the front (I used Early Espresso Baker's Twine (123124, page 194) to the center of the botton). I adhered these all together and added Sticky Tape to the back of the scallop and then attached to the medallion. This seems to be the best way to keep the medallions together. I then added some Early Espresso Baker's twine to the back for a "hanger".
These would make cute flowers - just add a popsicle stick or a pencil to the back for a stem!!
