Easy Events Card Set Gift Set

As part of my classes, I always try to have something special as a "grand prize".  So I made up this set of cards.  I cased the idea from Kirsteen Gill

Supplies:  Stamp Set:  Easy Events (WM 116958, CM 123225, page 57)

Card Stock: All the new "In-Colors" Pool Party, Island Indigo, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder and Whisper White.  On the top of the box I used a piece of Domestic Goddess Designer Series Paper that just happened to be sitting on my desk.  This is quickly becoming one of my favorite sets of designer series paper, because it's so versatile!  (122355, page 184)

Ink:  I stamped in Black StazOn (101406, page 203) and then used my In-Color Stampin' Write Markers to color in the images to match each card (123002, page 202)

Embellishments:  3/8" Ruffled Ribbon in the In-Colors:  Pool Party (122975), Calypso Coral (122976), Island Indigo (122974), Lucky Limeade (122977), Wisteria Wonder (122974)  Ribbon can be found on page 194

Fancy Folds Card Class Card #5 Accordion Card

I found this card on Genny Valdes blog  and just had to try it.  It' called an Accordian Fold - fun and lots of possibilities!

 

 

Supplies:

Stamp Sets:  Have a Seat (WM 116696, CM 120447, page 135), Timeless Treasures (WM 118748, CM 120615, page 135), Kindness Matters (WM 122900, CM 122902, page 121)

Card Stock:  Wisteria Wonder, Very Vanilla

Ink:  Wisteria Wonder, Soft Suede, Concord Crush

Embellishments:  3/8” Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon, Basic Pearls (119247, page 198)

Punch:  Lace Ribbon (122362, page 211), Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (118309, page 210)

Big Shot:  Ovals Originals Die (114525, page 220); Designer Frames Embossing Folders (123130, page 218)

 

Measurements:

Wisteria Wonder:  Cut 1: 10 ½ x 4 ¼”

Very Vanilla:  Cut 4: 3 ¾” x 3 7/8”

 

Instructions:

• Score Wisteria Wonder 10 ½” x 4 ¼” at 3 ½” and then flip card stock and score again at 7”.  Fold accordion style.
• Using template, cut top pieces at an angle
• Very Vanilla Card Stock – cut top angles on each piece.  Sponge each of 4 pieces first with Wister Wonder Ink, then with Soft Suede Ink, then again with Wisteria Wonder ink.  Also sponge around edges with Wisteria Wonder
• Front Piece:   Cut Wisteria Wonder piece 3 ¼”  with Lace Ribbon Punch.  Apply to bottom.  Stamp on front.  Add 12” piece of ribbon and apply to front panel
• Inside left piece:  Stamp as desired and apply to left front
• Center Piece:  Cut 3 ¼” wit6h Lace Ribbon Punch and apply to front bottom.  Cut Medium Oval from Ovals Original Die.  Line it up evenly in Oval Designer Frames Embossing Folder and run through the Big Shot.  I adhered it with dotto, so it doesn’t slide when running through the Big Shot.  Stamp center and adhere with dimensionals.  Add small flower punch and Basic Pearls  and sentiment.
• Right Piece – Stamp as desired and apply to right side of card

Fancy Folds Card Class Card #4 Center Step Card

Step cards are very popular and I love them all - this is one I found that I just love.  The center step card.  Looks complicated, but is VERY easy!

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Just Believe (WM 116948, CM 120453, page 109)

Card Stock:  Sahara Sand, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper (122342, page 185)

Ink:  Sahara Sand

Embellishments:  Basic Rhinestones (119246, page 198)

Punches:  Scallop Oval (119856, page 210), Large Oval (119854, page212), Boho Blossoms (119858, page 210)

 

Measurements:

Card Base:  Sahara Sand  11” x4 ¼”

Tangerine Tango: Cut 1:  4 ¼” x 2”; Cut 2: 4 3/8” x 7/8”;  Cut 1: 4 1/8” x 7/8”

Whisper White:  Cut 1:  4 1/8” x 1 7/8”

Beyond the Garden DSP:  Cut 1:  4 ¼” x 3/4”;  Cut 2: 4” x3/4” 

Instructions:             

• Line cardstock up in paper trimmer so that the edge of the card is at the 1" mark. Position the cutting blade at 1" and cut from 1" to 6 1/2".  Flip card stock over and do same on the other side
• Turn long ways and score at 1” and 2” and 6 ½” to the cut line (do this on both sides).  Then score at 5 ½”  only between the cut lines. 
•  Accordian fold as the picture shows.  
• Stamp on white with Sahara Sand.
• Punch out small flowers with Boho Blossom Punch and adhere to Whisper White.  Add Basic Rhinestones to flowers 
• Adhere to Tangerine Tango and mount on front center. 
• Adhere DSP to Tangerine Tango and add tosides and bottom front.
• Stamp “Thank You” and punch out using the Large Oval punch.   Mount on Tangerine Tango  Large Scallop .  Pop up as you mount.

Fancy Folds Card Class #3 Slider or Swing Card

This is also a fun card - and SO many ideas can be done with it.  It would be a cute Halloween card with a Happy Halloween on the front and maybe "BOO" when you swing the card around!!   I'll try to do that this week!!

Punches:  Decorative Label (120907, page 209)

Big Shot:  Square Lattice Embossing Folder (119976, page 218), Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (117335, page 219)

 

Measurements:

Crumb Cake:  Cut 1 for card base: 6 ¾” x 5 ½”

Marina Mist:  Cut 2:  4” x 2 ¾”, Cut 1:  5 ½” x 1”

Very Vanilla:  Cut 1:  3 ½” x 2 ¼”

Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper:  Cut 2:  3 ¾” x 2 ½”, Cut 1: 5 ½” x ¾”

 

Instructions:

 

• Slide your 5 1/2" x 6 3/4" cardstock into the paper cutter horizontally.  Line up the cardstock at the 2 3/4" mark, and score from 0" to 1 1/4" as well as from 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Flip your card and do the same on the other side.
  • Slide your cardstock into your paper cutter vertically. Line it up at the 4 1/4" mark.  Cut from 1 1/4" to 2 3/4" to meet your score line.  Lift your cutting blade, put it down on your second score and cut up to 5 1/2".  Take your paper out and repeat this step on the opposite side
  • Slide your cardstock into your paper cutter horizontally again. Line it up with the 5 1/2" mark.  Cut from 1 1/4" to 4 1/4", connecting your two horizontal cuts.  Turn your cardstock around and repeat this step on the opposite side.
  • Run card base through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  Run half the card through and then the other half
  • Stamp Four Frames flower frame on Very Vanilla card stock.  Punch out with Decorative Label Punch.  Add “Friends” sentiment from Just Believe Set.  Punch a piece of Marina Mist with Decorative Label Punch (to save card stock, I used the piece of 4” x 2 ¾” – it will be covered with designer series paper).  Frame “friend” sentiment with the Marina Mist. 
  • Run 3 ½” x 2 ¼” Very Vanilla through the Big Shot with Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  Mount this piece on Beau Chateau designer series paper and mount this on Marina Mist and onto the back of the “swing” part of the card. 
  • Stamp frame from Just Believe set on Very Vanilla.  Stamp “For You” from Elements of Style piece.  Cut out with scissors and mount with dimensionals
  • Mount 5 ½” x ¾” Beau Chateau DSP on top of 5 ½” x 1” Marina Mist.  Tie Marina Mist ¼” Grosgrain Ribbon ribbon around.  Add a piece of Sticky Strip  to back of ribbon and mount on left front side of card.

Fancy Folds Card Class #2 Tunnel Card

Here is the 2nd card we did on Saturday.  I received this idea from my good friend, Diane Winter.  She sent me the directions - I just changed the card to use the Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper.  Just LOVE this paper.

Stamp Set:  Charming (WM 116519, CM 125829, page 136), Elements of Style (WM 118611, CM 120045, page 134)

Card Stock:  Marina Mist, Pink Pirouette, Beau Chateau (122357, page 184)

Ink:  Marina Mist

Punches:  Lace Ribbon Border (122362, page 211), 1 ¼” Circle (119861, page 212), 1” Circle (119868, page 212)

Embellishments:  Basic Rhinestones (119246, page 198)

Big Shot:  Square Lattice Embossing Folder (119976, page 218) 

Measurements:

Marina Mist Card Stock  For card Base:  5 ½” x 8 ½”; Cut 1 5” x 3 ¾”; Cut 1: 2 5/8 x 1 7/8

Pink Pirouette Cut 1:  5 x 4 ¼” ; Cut 1: 5 ¼” x 4”; Cut 1: 2 7/8” x 2 1/8”

Whisper White  Cut 1: 2 3/8” x 1 5/8

Beau Chateau  8 ¼” x 5 ¼” 

Instructions: 

• Fold 8 ½ x 5 ½ Marina Mist card stock in half.
• Score and lightly fold the Pink Pirouette 5 x 4 ¼ card stock.  Stamp flower image in the center of the card stock using marina mist classic Ink.  Stamp again on scraps and cut out the center flower.  Add basic rhinestones.  Adhere  to center of marina mist card.
• Fold Beau Chateau in half.  Cut an oval in the middle of the print paper.  Fold from the side into the center on both sides of the printed piece making a mountain in the middle. 
• Adhere print paper to the inside of the marina mist card sock.  You will bring it in about a ¼ inch on both sides creating the tunnel and you will see the printed flower in the center through the oval whole.
• Punch two pieces with the Lace Ribbon Punch in Marina Mist 5 ¼” wide.
• Stamp “For You” on white card stock and punch with the 1” punch.  Punch out a 1 ¼” circle with Pink Pirouette and adhere behind words.  Apply with dimensionals to inside of card
• Front of card :  Run Marina Mist 5” x 3 ¾” through Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  Apply Pink Pirouette 5 ¼” x 4” piece to front of Marina Mist Card Base and then apply Marina Mist piece run through the Big Shot.
• Punch with Lace Ribbon Punch and Pink Pirouette 3 ¾” wide. Apply over Marina Mist
• Stamp saying from Charming Set and sponge around edges with Marina Mist.  Layer Pink Pirouette, Marina Mist and Whisper White

I just love this card - especially love using the Beau Chateau and the Charming Stamp Set together.  They compliment each other SO well.

Fancy Folds Class

Today was our Fancy Folds Class - we had a lot of fun - and hopefully the gals weren't too stressed - it was challenging and they were certainly up to it!!  Thanks gals.

I wanted to share the cards we made.  These cards are ones that are a bit more advanced and normally I cut and have everything pretty much prepared.  But not today - I did a lot of cutting, but all of the "fancy folding" and cutting we did together.  A great learning experience, eh?

The first card was the Up, UP and Away Pop-Up Card.  I want to give credit to a very sweet lady I met on the cruise in May and also saw again at convention in July. Robin Feicht did a great video on how to make these "in and out pop-up" cards and you can view her video here.

Ink:  Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Delightful Daffodil, Basic Gray

Embellishment:  10” Pool Party 3/8” Ruffled Ribbon (122975, page 194)

Punches:  2 3/8” Scallop Circle (118874, page 210), 2 ½” Circle (120906, page 212)

Big Shot:  Houndstooth Embossing Folder (123134, page 218)

 

Measurements:

Pool Party Card Base:  8 ½” x 5 ½”

Basic Gray:  8 ¼” x 5 ¼”

Whisper White:  8” x 5”

Calypso Coral:  5 ½” x 2 ½”

Domestic Goddess DSP:  5 ¼” x 4”

 

Instructions:

• Draw lines on grid paper at center and 2” on either side of center.  Lay out Whisper White 8” x 5” paper centering on grid paper.  Using the lines on the grid paper, stamp balloon images on the 2”, 4” and 6” centering on each line.  Stamp sentiment.   Using a scallop circle, sponge to make “clouds” in the sky above each balloon. 
• Score on the 2”, 4” and 6” lines.  Fold on the score lines and cut equidistant above and below each stamped image.  Fold on score lines and then fold each cut over and burnish with the bond folder.  
• Make a “W” with your score lines – the 2” and 6” scores will be valley folds and the 4” (center) will be a mountain fold.  Pop up or down the images. 
• Add Sticky Strip Tape to each outside panel (there are 4 panels – add sticky strip just to each outside panel).    
• Score the 8 ¼” x 5 ¼” basic gray card stock at 4 1/8”.  Attach stamped whisper white to basic gray, lining it up in the center
• Add the above to the 8 ½” x 5 ½” pool party card base which has been scored down the center
• For front, run the 5 ½” x 2 ½” Calypso Coral piece through the Big Shot in the Houndstooth Embossing Folder.  Tie 3/*’ Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon around and attach to front of card.
• Stamp another balloon on Whisper White along with Happy Birthday sentiment.  Punch out with 2 3/8” scallop circle.  Punch a 2 ½” circle in pool party card stock and mount sentiment on top.  Add to front of card with dimensionals.
