Tic Tac Toe Travel Game

Are you looking for a last minute idea for the kids?  I wanted to make something different for my grandchildren.  They are all about three hours from "Grandmother's House", so I wanted something they could do while traveling.

Walah (how do you spell that? LOL)  I found these cute little tins in the Clearance Rack here for just $2.99 each. 

 
Here are the fronts covers.  I used some retired designer series paper and some old, old stickers.  I didn't dress them up - because three of them are boys!!  The don't like froofroo!!

I used Sticky Strip to attach the designer series paper to the tins.  I then cut out the Rick Rack with card stock with the Big Shot XL Tasteful Trim die (120903, page 17 Holiday Mini Catalog). 

I added some magnets (119816, page 205) to the back of the Big Designer Buttons (page 17 Holiday Mini).  Just LOVE these big buttons - and if you have your new Occasions Mini Catalog (you should have gotten it in the mail either last week or this week - let me know if you didn't receive it and I'll send you one!!), Stampin' UP is offering lots of new colors including Springtime Vintage and Sweet Stitches).

So simple and the grandchildren will just love them!

Quick Tri-Fold Calendar Gift

Here's a quick gift just in case you forgot someone!!  My downline, Cindi, shared this with me and she found it on LeAnn Greff's blog!  Thanks for the ideas Cindi and LeAnn! I made these for all the gals in our family!!  They are FUN to make and go very quickly!

 
Here's a quick tutorial

Supplies:  Cardboard - I used the designer paper backing cardboard - works perfectly!!

Designer Series Paper of your choice and matching Card Stock

Sticky Tape

Instructions:

Cut cardboard 9 1/2" x 6 1/4" and score at 3", 6" and 9" on the long side.  This leaves 1/2" for folding the triangle.

Put a piece of Sticky Strip on the 1/2" tab

 
Fold into triangle

 
Cut piece of Designer Series Paper 3" x 6 1/4".  I used the brand new Springtime Vintage DSP that will soon be available for you to order from the Occasions Mini Catalog (page 15). 

Matching card stock:  Cut a piece 6 1/4" x 3/4".  Punch the 6 1/4" side with the Scallop Trim Border Punch (118402, page 200). 

Adhere the card stock at the top of the triangle

 

Next adhere the designer paper over the card stock

 
Then just add the calendar and your choice of embellishments.  My calendar measured 3" x 2 1/2".  I cut a piece of matching card stock and designer series paper to back the calendar.  I used the Beautiful Wings Embosslit to make the butterflies and attached them with mini glue dots.

This one will match my daughter-in-law's kitchen!!  

Sunny Garden Designer Series Paper and Poppy Parade Card Stock.  The rooster is from Countryside Stamp Set (WM 116998, CM 120495, page 115)

 

Here's another new Designer Series Paper - Sweet Stitches.  Have you had a chance to view the Occasions Mini and the Sew Suite?  "Sew" many neat things!!  This paper is found on page 32 of the Occasions Mini Catalog

The Designer Big Buttons are also part of the Sew Suite and are found on page 35 of the Occasions Mini.  These new buttons are really nice!!

 
And here's another piece of the Sweet Stitches Designer Series Paper.  Along with a few stamped buttons from the Button Button Stamp Set on page 34.

 
And one last one using another piece of the Sweet Stitches DSP.  I added some Flower Brads found on page 187 of the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog!!

Here are instructions for this cute project

Cut 3 pieces of Designer Series Paper 6" x 4 1/2"

One Piece Cut 2 1/4" x 2 5/8" (for the bottom)

For the tags cut 3 piecs 4" X 2 7/16" and 3 pieces 3 1/4"

Punch out three pieces of Card Stock using the Round Tab Punch (119864, page 202).  Use the Corner Round punch (119871, page 200) to corner the tags.

Cover Toilet Paper Rolls, then at the bottom, use sticky tape to attach the three together.

Round the corners of the small piece of card stock.  Fold in half and attach over the 3 covered Toilet Paper Rolls.  Use the large hold on the Crop-A-Dial (108362, page 198) to punch through the three toilet paper rolls and tie with ribbon to finish.

Assemble tags; cut slits to hold gift cards and use one tag for sentiment.

Anti-Bacterial Soap Holder

And last, but definitely not least, is the Anti-bacterial soap holder in a Christmas Theme.  Bath and Body Works sells these wonderful little purse-sized anti-bacterial gel.  I love to carry these with me and they make perfect stocking-stuffers!! Corner Bookmark

Here's another project we did - love this for a bookmark - nice and BIG!  Think of the possible combinations of card stock colors and embossing folders!!  What fun!!  Click here for the template.

 
Card Stock:  Basic Black

Embellishments:  5/8" Real Red Satin Ribbon (117286, page 191), Basic Pearls (119247, page 188)

Big Shot:  Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (120902, page 26 Holiday Mini Catalog 2010)

Cut the template using black card stock (or whatever color you want).  Fold and adhere with sticky strip (to make it sturdy).  Add some basic pearls and a ribbon!!  Done!!

What a quick, simple gift.  The receiver will think of you everytime they sit down to read and appreciate your thoughtfulness when they have their page so easily marked!

Stamp Set:  Tags til Christmas (WM 120847, Clear Mount 121169, page 24 Holiday Mini Catalog 2010)

Card Stock:  Cherry Cobbler, Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper (120810, page 18 Holiday Mini Catalog 2010), Whisper White

Ink:   Old Olive, Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Markers)

Embellishments:  5/8" Early Espresso Satin Ribbon (119753, pagte 191)

Punch: Decorative Label  (120907, page 25 Holiday Mini Catalog 2010)

Here's the inside

 

You start with a piece of card stock 11" x 4  1/4" .  Score at 3" from each end and then again at 2 1/2" from the 3" score.  Fold on the score lines mountain fold on both outside scores and valley fold in the center.  Adhere the two inside pieces together and cut along the score line twice with the decorative label punch.  That's the insert for your gift card.  Decorate the front and tie a ribbon around!!  Easy peasy!  Thanks for sharing this quick, easy gift, Shelly.
