I've always wanted to try a slider card and found this cute one on Michelle Van Wiggeren's site. A fun card to make and to give!!
Stamp Sets: Pedaling Past (WM 116972, CM 120069, page 7 Summer Mini), Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370, page 157)
Card Stock: Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Ink: Night of Navy
Embellishments: Silver Brads (104336, page 187)
Punches: Word Window (119876, page 202), Modern Label (119857, page 202), Wide Oval (119859, page 202)
Big Shot: Lots of Tags Sizzlits 4-pack (114508, page 211)
Step 1
Cut bashful blue for card base (11 x 4 ¼ and scored at 5 ½)
Cut Whisper White 5 3/8” x 4 1/8” and mount on Bashful Blue Card Base
Cut Night of Navy 5 ¼ x 4 and mount on Whisper White
Cut Bashful Blue card stock 5” x 3 ¾”
Step 2
Stamp decorative trim on right side of 5” x 3 ¾” piece of Bashful Blue
I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the decorative trim and to stamp evenly across the right side
Cut two long slits with Fiskar’s Paper Cutter (104152, page 199) in above piece 5/8” apart and 1” from each long end
Step 3
In this step you will make your pieces that will be your slider
Cut a piece of card stock ½” x 2” and fold in half
This piece will go through your slit (and come out on the back where you will adhere the ends together
Cut another piece of card stock ½” wide and 4 ¼” long with an “L” shape on the end like this picture
Adhere the “L” piece over the ½” x 1” folded piece with Sticky Tape (104294 page 197)
Now you have your “slider” piece
Put dimensionals on the back, making sure you don’t get near the sliding piece
Adhere this to the Night of Navy layer 3
Step 4
Stamp your tandem bicycle in Night of Navy; color with bashful blue Stampin’ Write Marker. Add silver brads for the wheels. Mount on Night of Navy Lots of Tags piece.
Add TWO layers of dimensionals on the back of the sentiment and adhere to the sliding piece (1/2” x 1” folded piece)
Now you can pull the little piece of cardstock and your tandem bike will “pedal” across the front of the card. I stamped “Happy Anniversary on the sliding piece.
Stamp “Enjoy the Journey” with Night of Navy Ink and cut with the Word Window Punch – mount on the modern label cut with Night of Navy
I wrote “Pull” on the end of the slider, so the recipient would know what to do J
