Flower Folds Hair Barrettes

By now you know my son is getting married on Saturday.  I made these Flower Folds  barrettes  for the two junior bridesmaids and the flower girl.   Thanks to Alayna for the idea!!

I used the Flower Folds Bigz XL Die and cut out the flowers. I just used the three smaller flowers for the barrets.  My sister found this fabric and the buttons.  I used my glue gun and glued it all together including the back.  I cut the 3rd size circle with the Circles #2 Original Die; glued that to the back and then the barrette on that.

Wedding Card for my son and his future wife

I always manage to leave things to the last minute and it's definitely the "last minute". We leave early tomorrow morning for the wedding!!

Stamp Set:  Well Scripted (WM 117072, CM 118601, page 19, Occasions Mini 2010)

Card Stock:  Sahara Sand, Basic Black, Bride Specialty Paper (115669, page 158, Groom Specialty Paper (115478, page 158)

Ink:  StazOn Jet Black Ink (101406, page 190), Sahara Sand

Embellishments:  Whisper White Organza Ribbon (114319, page 183), Basic Black 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon (109027, page 183), Small White Half Pearsl from Pretties Kit (109114, page 178)

Punch:  Full Heart (113693, page 186)

Big Shot:  (Stampin' Up Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit Die (117332, page 15)

I stamped "Congratulations" in Sahara Sand on the piece of Sahara Sand that backs the hearts.  I then cut one heart with the Bridge and Groom Specialty paper.  I then ran the Bride and Groom Specialty paper through the Big Shot with the Heart of Hearts Embosslit!

I used StazOn ink just so I would get a really good impression.

Simple, Quick Card

The hostess for our club meeting asked if we could do some "extra" cards for a small fee.  So I planned this card and two others that they could do after our meeting was done.  They loved making a few extra cards and these were really easy.

Stamp Set:  With All My Heart (WM 118134 CM 118623, page 12 Occasions Mini 2010)

Card Stock:  Real Red, Very Vanilla, Kraft, Sending Love Speciality Designer Series Paper (117153, page 13, Occasions Mini 2010)

Ink: Real Red, Pretty in Pink

Embellishments:  Linen Thread (104199, page 183)

Punches:  1 1/4" Square (104400, page 186), 1 3/8" Square (103375, page 186), Large Oval (107305, page 186), Scallop Oval (114889, page 186)

I stamped off on my paper before I stamped the large flower for the background - gives it a very nice subtle look and not too loud.  I also used tiny pieces of red tissue paper in the "faux bags".  This would make a wonderful birthday card, but I had this stamp set handy :)

Mother's Day Card

Here's the Mother's Day card that we made at the club meeting on Saturday.  Love my Big Shot!!  I was a little lazy this time and made all the members cut their own Big Shot items.  Good experience, right?

I discovered something quite exciting with this card.  I wanted to use my Well Scripted "Wonderful Mother" stamp - which fits well on the wide oval punch.  And I really needed something to back it - waalaa (sorry don't know how to spell that, but you get the drift :)  The Lots of Tags Sizzlit set has the perfect "frame" for the wide oval punch.  You probably knew that, but I didn't and I'm SO thrilled.  Love the way it looks!!

I just loved this layout so much, I had to make more.  We did this Happy Birthday card at our club meeting on Saturday.

Lattice Card

What fun this card was to make!!  It looks complicated, but really wasn't hard at all!!  I saw this on the Stampin' Connection and just had to try it.  No sentiment yet as I'm not sure who it will go to and for what occasion, but it will have to be someone special LOL!!

Card Stock:  Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink

Embellishments:   2 yards Whisper White 1/4" grosgrain Ribbon (109026, page 183), Jumbo Brads (112533, page 179)

Big Shot:  Flower Daisies #2 (114520, page 199), Sweetest Stems Embosslit (114513, page 195)

Punch:  Scallop Trim Border (118402, page 9 Sale-A-Bration Catalog FREE with a $50 order through Wednesday, March 31st), Scallop Trim Corner Punch (118870, page 11 Occasions Mini 2010)

To create the lattice look, I started with a piece of Regal Rose card stock cut 3 3/4 x 3 3/4".   I used the two Scallop trim corner and border punches and punched all around starting with the corners and then lining up and doing the sides.  I then attached the ribbon through one corner and just laced it through every other scallop.  After threading it through one way, I went through the missed scallops the opposite way.

I then cut out three colored daisies and mounted them together with the jumbo brad.

The base for this card is 5" x 10" and folded in half and cut in Pretty in Pink.  Second layer is Certainly Celery cut 4 1/2" square.  Third layer is Whisper White cut 4 1/4" square.  4th layer is Pretty in Pink cut 4" square.  Then the Regal Rose started out 3 3/4" square.

Elegant Sympathy Card

I haven't had time to do any creating this week - but taxes are done and that's a big relief.

Here's a card I made recently and wanted to share.

Stamp Set:  Close as a Memory (114946, page 52)

Card Stock:  Basic Black, Very Vanilla Textured Card Stock, Designer Paper from the Guest Book Simply Scrappin' Kit (115697, page 166)

Ink:  Basic Black

Embellishments:  Filigree Brad (112577, page 179)  Basic Black 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon (115605, page 183)

Big Shot:  Texture Plates Backgrounds #1 (114512, page 195), Circles #2 Original Die (114526, page 202)

Punch:  Ticket Corner (107214, page 186)

I used the Circles #2 die and cut out all 4 circles.  I then distressed the edge of each circle, sponged the edges in black with a sponge dauber and crumpled them up.  I straightened them out and added a 3/4" circle in basic black and a filigree brad.  Simple flower, but adds a nice touch!!

Why I Became a Stampin' UP Demonstrator

I thought I would share my reason for signing up to be a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator.  I was invited to a workshop about six years ago.  I am and was a scrapbooker and at first, rubber stamping didn’t’ interest me.  But I did buy a couple of stamp sets that I thought would work for my scrapbooking.

I didn’t use the stamp sets, but when it came time to go to a 2^nd workshop, I found the projects were beautiful and I thought it would be fun to make some cards.
