I demoed this cute little double pocket gift card holder at our last club meeting. Very easy and a great gift card holder. I made these all for Christmas, but can be used any time of the year.
Here's a little tutorial. Any questions, don't hesitate to email me at [email protected] and I'll help!!
Here's a picture of a few I made up tonight
First step is to cut a piece of double sided Designer Print paper 8" x 6". Score at 4" on the 8" side and 3" on the 6" side
With the side that you would like to show facing you, turn down the top left corner 1/2"
Grabbing the corner you just turned down, turn your paper over
Now fold up the bottom right corner to meet the center score line
Be sure to fold each crease with your bone folder, so it's very flat. Next bring the bottom up and fold in half
Close the "seam" on the right with snail as below
Fold the left side UNDER the right side!
Adhere the bottom inside with snail
Fold over and you have your double pocket gift card holder. Now you can embellish it.
Cut 7" of Real Red 1/4" Grosgrian Ribbon. I put snail on both ends and brought them around to the front
I then stamped on Whisper White with the scallop stamp from Hostess set Christmas Punch. I cut out the red scallop with the Movers & Shapers Die for the frame.
The next step is to make the tag. I stamped the scroll/leaf from Patterned Pines (Holiday Mini Level 1 Hostess set) in two opposite corners of a piece of 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" Whisper White Card Stock, and then used the "To From" from Winter Post (111780 page 35). I then cut a piece of Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon 4" and stapled it to the top and mounted this piece on a Real Red piece cut 2 3/4" x 2".
I placed the StarBucks GC in the back pocket and the tag in the front pocket.
I hope these instructions are clear. Don't hesitate to write if you have questions.
Hello, just came across your Double Pocket Gift Card Holder and could not follow the directions; the photos did not translate into a finished product for me, and I would so appreciate further instructions. Are you available? I saw this under date of December 04, 2009. Is there a video of this?
