I love these Flower Pots. They are fun to make - so many possibilities. I made this one as a demo at our club meeting and promised Rose I would get the tutorial up. So here goes.....
I made up a small tutorial
Cut a piece of card stock in Dusty Durango 4" x 3"
Lay your paper on the 4" side in your Fiskers Paper Cutter (104512, page 191), and score (black scoring tool) at 1 1/2".
Change your scoring tool to the cutting blade - line up your piece of cardstock with the 1 1/2" score mark on the cutting edge and the bottom on the 1/2" mark as above.
And cut off the little tip. Turn your card stock over and do the same on the other side.
You now have your flower pot shape!! Cool, eh?
Using your Eyelet Punch (113692, page 186), punch out the top of the flower pot.
Ink up your Brayer (102395, page 192) with Dusty Durango and ink off on scrap paper and then brayer the bottom part of your flower pot. Gives it that "textured" look.
Fold down the top on the score line and......
add your 1/2" Dusty Durango Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon (115609, page 182).
I used Kind and Caring Thoughts (Level 3 Hostess set, 115324, page 16 - host a workshop and you could earn this set FREE) and my NEW Stampin' Write Marker Dusty Durango (116329, page 155 - the first year SU has offered Stampin' Write Markers in the In-Colors!!) and Old Olive. I colored the stems in Old Olive and flowers in Dusty Durango - first I stamped off and stamped lighter and then colored the stamp again and stamped over that darker.
I stamped on Whisper White and attached the flower pot over the bottom of the flowers. I used a sponge dauber and daubed the edges. Then stamped "With Sympathy" on Whisper White and cut out with the new Designer Label Punch (107590, page 186). I then cut out the same designer label with the new Magnetic Movers and Shapers Punch Window set.
Fun times!!
Jan I love this card. I would love to make for my mother. Can you advise how you smoothed out the edges of the card after cutting? thanks, natalie
