Chrysanthemum

I found these beautiful chrysanthemums made with the 5-petal flower punch and just loved them, so had to try one.  You can find instructions on Dannie's blog.

  

Stamp Set: Short & Sweet (115060, page 137)

Card Stock:  Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Raspberry Tart (113975, page 160)

Ink:  Riding Hood Red

Embellishments:  Rhinestone Circle Fire Brads (109110, page 174)

Punches:  5-Petal Flower (109041, page 184), Large Oval (107305, page 184), Small Oval (107304, page 184), Scallop Edge (112091, page 184)

Can you see the leaves - they are made with the crimper.  Just take a piece of card stock and fold it in half (about 3 x 6).  Run that through the crimper and then cut out a long oval on the fold.  Open it up and you have a wonderful leaf

Paper Pleating

Remember when we used to wear pleated skirts?  They were SO beautiful.  I'm sure they will come back into fashion one day.  I found this great tutorial on Paper Pleating here.  And, of course, I had to try it!!

Punches:  5-Petal Flower (109041, page 184), Large Oval (107305, page 184), Small Oval (107304, page 184), Scallop Edge (112091, page 184)

Just a quick tip:  Start with a  strip of paper approximately 1 1/2" wide. Score first at the 1" mark, then at the 1 1/2" mark, then at 2 1/2", then at 3", alternating between adding 1/2" and 1" until you get to the end of your strip.

 Add a line of adhesive along one edge of your scored strip.

 Accordian fold your strip. Starting with the left end, first make a mountain fold, then a valley fold, and so on, tucking each 1/2" section behind the 1" sections to form the pleats.

Have fun with this one!!  So many possibilities

Big Shot Flower Daisies #2

I didn't purchase the Big Shot Daisies #2 at first.  Didn't know how to use it.  But I saw some wonderful examples, so I got it and simply LOVE it

Here's a simple card without a sentiment - I'll leave it off until I need that one special card then add the sentiment.  I also textured the white piece - but you really can't see it in the picture!
