Big Shot Textured Impressions Die Manhattan Flower

I wanted to try the Big Shot Textured Impressions Die Manhattan Flower on Glossy Card Stock.  I knew it would really look good.  So here's the first card.  The next three posts after this one will be my "mistakes" in trying to get this card right :)

The die impression really stands out with the Glossy Card Stock.  Sometimes I am a little challenged to get the impressions going the right way.  Check back in a couple of days to see my mistakes!!  I "impressed" on the wrong side of the glossy card stock and couldn't stand to waste those pieces!

This next card will be the next wedding card.  I just loved the way it turned out.  I saw this card in a different color and wanted to see how the white came out.  Perfect!!  It almost looks blue in the scan, but it's not - it's Whisper White

Again I cased this idea from Patty Bennett.  I used Card Stock Vellum and did the impressing and then cut off the top edge with my Paper Snips.  Love that Vellum

This next card we made at a class in Portland at Kathy's home.  They all loved the color combination and they all were able to try out the new Impressions die.

On this card we cut out the oval at the top of the card and stamped on the Very Vanilla beneath.

I had been hoping and hoping for Impressions Dies and behold they are here.  Available March 1st, they are shown in the 2009 Spring and Summer Idea Book and this one is just superb!.  I have been seeing so many, many ideas and have been experimenting also.  The next few posts will show some of my creations plus I have cased quite a few.  Patty Bennett has made some wonderful projects and I have emulated my "hero"  LOL.  She probably won't ever see this, so I can boast about her work (which I case often!!)

We made this first card in a workshop at Barbara's house.  They loved it and it was fun showing them how it worked.

Have you considered the Printed Window Sheets in the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  I DO hope they have them in the new catalog when it comes out.  They make striking, fast, easy cards.

When you purchase the Clearly Thanks Printed Window Sheets, you receive two sheets printed in Whisper White and each sheets can be cut out and used on 4 different 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" cards.  I am going to show you the 4 cards I made from samples on Patty Bennett's blog.

As mentioned by Patty, I also used brads to hold the window sheets on my cards.  You can actually dab a little bit of snail on if you need to behind the printed area.  They make stunning cards, which my scans do NOT do justice to.

Pretty Flower

I made this card for our downline meeting swap.  I made it a 4 x 4 and love th eway it turned out.  Would make a wonderful wedding or anniversary card.

I used the Crafter's Tool Kit to make the paper-piercing around the flower.  I watercolored the flower with the Watercolor Crayons and the Aquapainter - this has become one my new favorite things to do!!
