St. Patrick's Day Cards

I usually don't do many St. Patrick's Day cards, because I'm not Irish!!  My Dad was English!!  That's tells the whole story LOL

But I just had to share this card I found on Connie Babbert's wonderful blog.  I changed it very little because her card was just perfect - we made it at a couple of workshops, and the gals loved it!!

I saw this next card again somewhere and can't find it again.  I didn't have a shamrock for his hat, so ended up using a small piece of the Fresh Cuts stamp set vine.  Isn't he just the cutes little leprechaun

I made the mouth with the Round Tab Punch - I stuck in the paper and cut the round tab and then just stuck in one side and punch off a little bit more!  I used dimensionals to "raise" his nose and free-handed the Really Rust for the beard!!  A really fun card!!

Big Shot Flowers

I'm having tons of fun with my Big Shot.  I made the following two cards after seeing some samples online - I wish to thank those who have given me inspiration for them (of course I tried, and couldn't find the originators - when/if I do, I will give them credit here!!

This card would make a beautiful, wedding, anniversary, birthday or just all occasion card!!

I stamped the flower in Regal Rose and then stamped the saying over it in Bravo Burgundy.  I  then sponged around the flower with Regal Rose and a sponge dauber

This new Big Shot Die, Movers & Shakes is really fun.  I cut the card stock base the long way (4 1/4" x 11").  I then ran it through the die and it cut the window AND it scored the cardstock at the same time! 

The next three cards are made from the beautiful new textured paper, Parisian Breeze Speciality.  This is card stock weight designer paper.  It has a white core and texture - really stunning paper.

Technique Tuesday "W" and "X"

We're really winding down toward the end of Technique Tuesday.  We've done a whole year of techniques.  I really want to thank my gals for sticking with me!! 

Watercoloring is a fun and easy technique!  Now I'm NOT an artist.  Have you every said that?  But I FEEL like one when I watercolor!  We used the Watercolor Wonder Crayons and the Aqua Painter.  SO easy and yet so effective.

For "X" I did have a time coming up with something.  So I went with "Xtreme Chipboarding."   I know, stretching it a bit - but we hadn't done anything with chipboard, so this was fun.

There is SO that you can do with chipboard.  Especially with the Big Shot.  You can cut chipboard with the original and Bigz dies.  What fun!!  You can cover your chipboard with designer paper.  You can use beads.  Or just use it in it's original state!!

This new textured paper Parisian Breeze Speciality is just scrumptous.  I applied it to the chipboard with glue stick, and ran it through the Big Shot.  I don't recommend this because is jammed down into the die.  So, my suggestion is to not use chipboard and the new textured paper together.
