October Club Project – Block Step Card
I'm sorry I haven't done much sharing lately With three Christmas Stamp-A-Stacks in a row, it's kept me pretty busy. I haven't even shared our club projects from October – so that is what you will see today.
I found this darling step block card recently – saw it on two different sites – including Dawn Griffith and Deb Valder. I just had to make these up because they are SO cute
What do you think? Aren't they just the CUTEST thing? I'm going to show you a little tutorial so YOU can make one also.
1. Start with a piece of card stock that measures 4 1/2" x 12". Score on the 12" side every 1 1/2". So at 1 1/2", 3", 4 1/2", 6", 7 1/2", 9" and 10 1/2"
2. Turn and score on the short side at 1 1/2" and 3"
3. Count over from the left 4 squares and cut out the TWO squares on the 4th row and then each square on the first row across – I've outlined them on a white piece of paper. These will be cut completely away
You piece should now look like this
4. Add Sticky Strip Tape to the two right squares in rows 1 and 2
5. Adhere the opposites two pieces to these two to form your blocks
6, You will now notice that one side is longer than the other. This will be folded in to make the bottom of your card. Cut a piece of card stock 4 1/2" x 1" and score at the 1/2" mark. Add sticky strip to each side and adhere to the inside bottom
4 1/2" x 1"
Adhere to the bottom and side together
and you have this
That's the base of your card
Cut a piece of designer series paper 4 3/8" x 1 3/8" for the bottom
And cut 9 squares of Whisper White 1 3/8" x 1 3/8"
And 9 squares of Designer Series Paper 1 1/4" x 1 1/4"
Add these to the front side of your card and also to the top blocks. If you would like to cover the back, you will need 15 of each of the sizes above
Then decorate as you wish
