Napkin Fold – September Club Project

We had fun making the Napkin Fold cards at the club meetings in September.  These look very complicated, but I'm sure the gals will tell you they are pretty easy!  LOVE how they turned out.  We did a 4" x 4" card and I will be giving you a little tutorial on how these are made.  I will also share a 6" x 6" card in a later post!  You will LOVE making these cards – they are very special!!

Supplies:

Stamp Sets:  Age Awareness (135381); Letterpress Winter (135143)

Card Stock:  Pistachio Pudding 8" x 8", 9" x 1 1/4"

Calypso Coral 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"; 2" x 2"

Whisper White 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"; small scrap for stamping sentiment

Gold Foil Sheets (132622),  1 1/2" x 1 1/2"

Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Paper (133697)  2 pieces 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"; 8 pieces 1 3/4" x 1 3/4"; 9" x 1"

Ink:  Calypso Coral

Punches:  1 1/4" Circle (119861); 1 3/8" Circle (119860), 1 3/4" Scallop Circle (119854)

Instructions:

1.  Score Pistachio Pudding 8" x 8" at the 2" and 6" marks.  Turn and score again at 2" and 6"

2.  Add the Diagonal Scoring Board (125586) to the Scoring Tool and score diagonally at the 4" and the 6" marks on all 4 sides

3.  Fold and burnish with the bone folder all folds.  The straight folds and the diagonal folds.  I fold both ways and burnish well – that helps when folding the card

4.  The next step is to fold up the card.  Start with the large center triangles and fold those into the center at the same time keeping the other smaller triangles to the outside.  After folding one, fold in the next one and it will "automatically" fold into a square in the corner

5.  The corners will be squares and you now fold back the top triangle

6.  Stamp sentiment on Whisper White piece 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" in Calypso Coral.  Attach to Calypso Coral 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" and attach this to the center of the card

 

7.  Cut the two 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" designer series paper squares on the diagonal and the eight 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" designer series pieces also on the diagonal.  You have 4 larger triangles and 16 smaller triangles.  These will be adhered to the inside of the card

When done it should look like this

Belly Band

8.  Adhere DSP 9" x 1" to the Pistachio Pudding 9" x 1/4". 

9.  Add a piece of Sticky Strip Tape to one end of the strip and wrap around the closed card.  Adhere somewhat loosely.

10.  Remove belly band and add front sentiment to cover the seam.  First stamp the "For You in Calypso Coral ink on small Whisper White piece and punch out with 1 1/4" circle punch.  Punch a 1 3/8" circle in the Gold Foil Sheet and a 1 3/4" scallop circle in Calypso Coral.  Adhere together and add to top of Belly Band

And you are DONE – now wasn't that easy?
