I hope you have a safe and Happy 4th!!

One of the most FUN things about Stampin' Up events, are swapping.  We make swap and then "swap" them on our incentive trips AND at the Annual Stampin' Up Convention (which is just 3 weeks away!)  On othe cruise we recently were a part of, we again swapped and Teri Pocock made this BEAUTIFUL and unqiue card.  She shared the directions and I wanted to share them with YOU!

Here is the card we made

Gatefold Magic Window Card

When you open it up the sentiment appears!  Cool, eh?

And here's how we made them

  1.  Cut Crumb Cake Card Stock 8” x 4”.  Score at the 2” and 6” marks on the 8” side

                           IMG_3442   IMG_3443

  1. Cut 4 pieces Blackberry Bliss dotted paper from the In-Color Paper Stacks 1 ¾” x 3 ¾” . Adhere these pieces to the front two sections and the inside sections

  1.  Cut 1 piece Blackberry Bliss dotted paper 3 ¾” x 3 ¾” and adhere to center section

  1.    Cut two pieces of Crumb Cake 3” x 3”.  Stamp flourish from Everything Eleanor with Crumb Cake Ink

 4.          Turn each piece over and draw a line through the center of each piece.  Measure in 1 1/8” and put a pencil mark

  IMG_3448

Cut up to the pencil mark on each piece and then into the pencil mark from each edge, making a “ribbon” cut

 6.  Score ¼” on each straight edge – this will be the edge you will adhere for the Magic Window

 7.    On the inside of your card, and on the score lines, measure down ½” on each side and bottom and top and make a small pencil mark. Add some Tombow Multipurpose glue to the ¼” folded piece.   Line up the ¼” score line between the ½” pencil marks right on the edge of the Blackberry Bliss piece (NOTE:  this is on the outside pieces!!)  which will be 1/8” from the score line.  Close up your pieces and make sure they are lined up along top edge.  Then secure down (using Tombow Multipurpose glue gives you a bit of “wiggle” room!)

8.   Stamp sentiment on piece of Whisper White in Blackberry Bliss Ink.  Cut out with 2 ½” circle punch. Add Tombow adhesive to back and line up in center of Blackberry Bliss dotted center piece.  Close window and check for center placement – then adhere down.  Again you have a little “wiggle” room so it’s perfectly centered

9.  Cut piece of Crumb Cake  2 ½” x 4” and a piece of Hello Honey dotted DSP 2 ¼” x 3 ¾” .  Adhere Hello Honey to Crumb Cake.  Turn to backside and draw pencil lines both horizontally and vertically.  Line up the Starburst Sayings Framelit (2nd to smallest) and cut out centering on piece.

 10.   Put a bead of Tombow glue on top and bottom of piece and line it up over the sentiment on the inside of the card (make sure your crumb cake pieces are closed).  After verifying you have it centered, adhere tombow down

11.   Stamp Sentiment on small piece of Whisper White and cut out with the smallest Window Frames Framelit.  Cut out a piece of Hello Honey with the 2nd smallest Window Frames Framelit and using the coordinating paper-piercing template, piercing around edge.  Add this piece to the front of the card remembering to just adhesive to the left side

12.  Cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss 3/8” Satin Ribbon and tie in a bow.  Add to front of card with glue dot!
