April Stampin’ Up Club Projects Spinner Card

One of my friends showed me a spinner card and because it was SO darling, I just had to figure out how to make one.  So that is one of our projects for April.

Here is the card we made this month.  The butterfly "spins" across the card when you turn it!!  How fun!

IMG_1803_resizeStamp Set:  Flight of the Butterfly (111564, page 108)

Card Stock: Concord Crush, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, Sweet Shop Specialty Designer Series Paper (125408, page 33, Occasions Mini Catalog)

Ink:  Wisteria Wonder, Concord Crush

Punches:  Word Window (119857, page 209), Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border (119275, page 211), Butterfly (119848, page 210), 3/4" Circle (119873, page 212)

Other:  2 Pennies

Instructions

1. Using the Word Window punch, punch in center of Whisper White 5 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece.  Punch twice more on each side of center punch.  This will be the opening that your "spinner" will spin on.

2.  Stamp on this piece.

3.  Add dimensionals to back of Whisper White piece.  You will need to add a double layer of dimensionals on this piece.

4.  Stamp Butterfly in Concord Crush on Wisteria Wonder.  Punch out with Butterfly Punch.  Punch out two Whisper White butterflies.

5.  Cut 3/4" circle of Whisper White and add to front of one penny.  Adhere pennies together with 2 dimensionals.

6. Add one white butterfly to back of Wisteria Wonder butterfly.  Add one layer of dimensionals to back of Whisper White Butterfly and apply 2nd Whisper White Butterfly.  Add two dimensionals to center of 2nd Whisper White Butterfly and adhere to white backed penny.  This is your spinner Butterfly.

7.  Slip spinner butterfly through Word Window punch out on Whisper White piece, and add this piece to front of Concord Crush card base.

8.  Add double dimensionals to Sweet Sheet piece that is cut 5 1/4" x 1/2".  Add to bottom of card.

9.  Cut Concord Crush Card Stock with Dotted Scallop  Ribbon Border Punch.  Add to front of card

You will need to "work" your spinner over the front of the card to round out the edges of the dimensionals between the pennies.  After a few times, it will roll freely!!

Here are some more samples I made

Isn't this the cutest?  My grandson thought it was GREAT!  I cased this idea, but can't remember now where I originally saw it!!

And a cute Birthday Card

And last, but not least – a golf card

These are SUCH fun cards and really quite simple to make.  The thing to remember is to add double dimensionals so the card spins freely!!

Hope you have fun making some and share!  Leave a comment with a link to your blog as I would love to see them.  Or, if you don't blog, email me and I will be happy to share on my blog!!
